Preferred qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Experience working with business and operations teams to understand drivers and find common ground between requirements.

You will join our multi-disciplinary UX team, collaborating with Engineering and Product Management, leveraging user insights to create industry-leading products.
As an Interaction Designer, you'll apply user-centered design methods to craft industry-leading user experiences from concept to execution, working with design partners to evolve the Google design language to build beautiful, innovative products.
As a part of the Trust and Safety UX team, your mission is to understand online risks and harms and develop experiences that empower our community to safely explore and participate. You will build the infrastructure and tools that allow YouTube to enforce its community guidelines at scale while ensuring the community can participate safely. As the UX designer for Youth Safety and Emerging Bets, you will apply your expertise as a problem solver to understand and develop product solutions for Youth Safety and YouTube's newest investments. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $189,000-$274,000 bonus equity benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across YouTube to identify, develop, and long-term user experience and product strategies for youth safety and new investments.
  • Apply problem-solving expertise to understand and develop product solutions for youth safety challenges and YouTube's newest investments.
  • Design UX frameworks and service models that clarify the solution space and address safety challenges facing the platform.
  • Engage directly with product owners to prioritize and implement safer features, ensuring new products are safe for the community.
  • Influence and guide adjacent design efforts by partnering with a variety of stakeholders to provoke new thinking on critical safety issues.
