Job description

JOB SUMMARY
The Groundskeeper is responsible for the maintenance, care, and improvement of outdoor landscapes, including lawns, gardens, retention areas, parking areas, and walkways. This role ensures that the grounds are clean, safe, attractive, and well-maintained year-round.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Mow, trim, and edge lawns using power and hand tools.
  • Maintain flower beds, shrubs, and trees; perform planting, pruning, watering, and fertilization.
  • Clear leaves, debris, and litter from grounds, walkways, and parking areas.
  • Operate and maint
  • ain landscaping equipment such as lawnmowers, trimmers, leaf blowers, and sprinklers.
  • Apply pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers in accordance with safety standards and regulations.
  • Perform minor maintenance on irrigation systems and report major issues.
  • Assist with seasonal tasks such as winterizing grounds and preparing areas for planting.
  • Monitor grounds for signs of pest infestation, disease, or hazards and take appropriate actions.
  • Perform minor repairs and report any damage or unsafe conditions on the property.
  • Support setup and cleanup for outdoor events as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager or designee.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS/EXPERTISE
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience in groundskeeping or landscaping preferred
  • Knowledge of gardening techniques, equipment maintenance, and safe chemical use
  • Experience pulling a trailer with a vehicle required
  • Ability to operate hand and power tools safely.
  • Physically fit and able to perform tasks that involve lifting, bending, walking, and standing for extended periods.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Verbal and written communication skills are required along with the ability to communicate with coworkers, management, and external parties effectively and professionally.
  • Time management skills and demonstrates initiative that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail, meeting deadlines
