Job description

VISUAL DESIGNER

Contract - 6-months to start with long-term opportunity

We are seeking a highly creative and strategic Visual Designer. This role sits at the intersection of visual storytelling, brand design, communications, and emerging product experiences.

The ideal candidate is a strong designer who can transform complex ideas into compelling visual narratives and polished communications materials. You will partner closely with senior stakeholders, researchers, engineers, product teams, and leadership to create presentations, event branding, marketing assets, and visual systems that represent cutting-edge technology and research initiatives to both internal and external audiences.

This is an excellent opportunity for a designer who enjoys a mix of brand, marketing, communications, and product-adjacent work, with a pathway into deeper product design responsibilities over time.


Key ResponsibilitiesExecutive & Strategic Communications
  • Design high-impact presentation decks, templates, and visual storytelling materials for leadership, research, and technology teams.
  • Partner with stakeholders to extract and shape complex narratives into clear, compelling visual communications.
  • Develop presentation materials for conferences, speaking engagements, executive briefings, and industry events.
  • Create reusable deck frameworks and templates that elevate communication quality across business units.
Brand & Marketing Design
  • Design visually polished communications materials including:
    • Save-the-date invitations
    • Email campaigns
    • Event graphics
    • Signage and banners
    • Print collateral
    • Marketing and promotional assets
  • Support branding initiatives across research, technology, and software-focused organizations.
  • Contribute to marketing website design and digital brand experiences.
Event & Conference Support
  • Own visual design deliverables for external-facing industry events and conferences.
  • Ensure consistent, high-quality brand execution across all attendee touchpoints.
  • Collaborate with communications and marketing partners to develop engaging event experiences.
Creative Concept Development
  • Develop and pitch visual concepts, including logos, branding explorations, and creative directions.
  • Build persuasive presentation materials that communicate design rationale and recommendations.
  • Present ideas confidently to stakeholders, product teams, and leadership audiences.
QualificationsRequired
  • 4+ years of experience in Visual Design, Graphic Design, Brand Design, or a related discipline.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in visual storytelling, presentation design, and brand systems.
  • Advanced proficiency in:
    • Figma
    • Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
    • Presentation design tools (PowerPoint, Keynote, or Google Slides)
  • Experience creating polished external-facing communications and marketing materials.
  • Strong typography, layout, color, and composition skills.
  • Ability to take loosely defined stakeholder input and transform it into compelling visual narratives.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with technical, research, or product-focused teams.
Plus if you have :
  • Experience supporting conferences, events, or executive communications.
  • Familiarity with product branding and design systems.
  • Understanding of atomic design principles and component-based design approaches.
  • Experience designing marketing websites and digital experiences.
  • Exposure to motion design, logo design, or brand identity development.
  • Interest in emerging technologies, AI, and software products.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $64.00/hr.
