Job description

Mission Statement:
Uplift's mission is to create and sustain public schools of excellence that empower each student to reach their highest potential in college and the global marketplace and that inspire in students a life-long love of learning, achievement, and service in order to positively change their world.
Primary Purpose:
Supports our Scholar Recruiting team to drive leads and applications for prospective families and convert leads to applications in an effort to increase scholar applications.ย  Scholar Recruiting Interns will articulate the Uplift value and benefits to prospective families and support the team with recruiting events, tabling, phone calls, and other tactics.ย 
Duties/Responsibilities:






  • Plan and organize logistics for school "Meet-the-Admin" events
  • Maintain an aggressive posture toward identifying and capitalizing on new and innovative recruitment opportunities to drive scholar applications
  • Serve as the face of Uplift at community events
  • Closely track prospective families, applications per open seat for each grade and school; updates tracking tools/reports; Follows up with prospective families either over phone or email
  • Collaborate with recruiters to develop campus-specific strategies to achieve application goals, in line with network best practices
  • Persuasively convince families to apply to Uplift and accept lottery offers
  • Assist with re-enrollment and pre-k help as needed
  • Leverage existing families for referrals table at local events
  • Visit local business to spread literature and information about
  • Follow-up with new families at the start of the year to check-in on their Uplift experience


Education, Experience, and/or Certification(s)

  • Education Requirements: Associates degree or higher preferred; relevant work experience may be substituted for degree preference; being an Uplift Alum may be substituted for degree preference
  • Special Skills/Certifications
    • Effective organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
    • The ability to work independently and be self-motivated

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
  • Bi-lingual Sills: Spanish preferred but not required
  • Technology: Basic understanding of Microsoft Office, Google, Outlook, etc.


Physical Demands:ย 
Frequent walking and standing; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting; repetitive hand motions including frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching; occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)
Must have reliable transportation to get to and from recruitment events
Work Environment:ย 
Role requires frequent travel to businesses and communities across the DFW metroplex.ย  May spend some time on school campuses or at the Central Management Office.
Starting Salary:ย $20/hr.
