Job description

JOB SUMMARY

The Retail Inventory Specialist works as an integral part of the Fort Argyle retail store to ensure accurate and organized merchandise to meet the needs of customers. This position monitors and maintains accurate inventory levels and is responsible for receiving, processing, organizing and stocking incoming merchandise in storage areas and on the retail sales floor. This role provides essential support within the store to meet the financial goals and needs of the business.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES
  • Computer literacy with proficiency in Google Suite programs (Docs, Sheets, Gmail, Slides)
  • Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and collaboration  skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to perform inventory transactions in the inventory management programs
  • Ability to multi-task and function well in a fast paced environment with minimal supervision
  • Excellent problem solving skills and independent judgment  to research and resolve various issue
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Receive, inspect, and process incoming merchandise shipments for accuracy and quality.
  • Coordinate with other departments on any shipment discrepancies or issues.
  • Stock and organize  inventory in assigned locations in storage areas and on the sales floor.
  • Pick, pack, and ship items from retail inventory as needed to support business needs.
  • Perform inventory cycle counts and UPC audits according to the established schedule and cadence
  • Research and reconcile  inventory variances.
  • Evaluate inventory management processes and procedures periodically and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Maintain neat, clean, organized, and efficient work spaces and inventory storage areas
  • identify and request tools, resources, and supplies necessary to execute job duties
  • May provide support as a retail associate to  assist with customers and process sales transactions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum high school diploma, GED, or equivalent education. 
  • Inventory management and receiving experience is required and within a retail store setting is preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This is a full-time position within a retail store with some time spent in a warehouse environment. Physical activities may include frequent climbing, standing, stooping, and lifting up to 50 pounds in addition to time spent sitting at a desk, working on a computer, or other repetitive motions.
