Team Summary
The Growth Marketing team is focused on driving customer acquisition, engagement, retention, and long-term value across Staples' digital ecosystem. This team partners closely with Marketing, Product, Analytics, Technology, and external vendors to deliver innovative, data-driven strategies that accelerate growth and enhance the customer experience. Through collaboration and experimentation, the team plays a key role in advancing Staples' omnichannel and digital transformation objectives.
Role Summary
The Omni App Program Manager is responsible for driving customer acquisition, adoption, engagement, and growth for the Staples mobile application. As a key member of the Growth Marketing team, this role develops and executes data-driven marketing strategies across paid, owned, and product-integrated channels to increase app installs, improve customer retention, and maximize customer lifetime value.
This role operates at the intersection of marketing, analytics, product management, and technology, serving as the subject matter expert for app growth and mobile marketing initiatives. The ideal candidate combines analytical expertise, digital marketing knowledge, and strong cross-functional collaboration skills to influence business outcomes and support Staples' omnichannel growth strategy.
What You'll Be Doing
  • Develop and execute mobile app growth strategies to drive customer acquisition, engagement, retention, and lifetime value.
  • Own paid app install campaigns across platforms including Meta, Google, and Apple Search Ads, optimizing performance and investment effectiveness.
  • Manage app store optimization (ASO) efforts across the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, including testing creative assets, refining messaging, and enhancing discoverability.
  • Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to app installs, attribution, customer engagement, retention, and monetization.
  • Manage mobile measurement infrastructure and attribution strategies, including partnerships with mobile measurement providers and tracking technologies.
  • Lead app-focused promotional strategies, install incentives, and exclusive customer offers to improve acquisition and engagement.
  • Partner with Marketing, Product, Analytics, Digital Experience, and external vendors to execute integrated growth initiatives.
  • Influence mobile product experiences, including onboarding, push notifications, deep linking, and customer lifecycle initiatives.
  • Build performance reporting and deliver meaningful insights, recommendations, and business cases to stakeholders and leadership teams.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize customer acquisition investments and improve overall app marketing effectiveness.

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Analytics, Communications, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in digital marketing, growth marketing, mobile marketing, product marketing, or a related discipline.
  • Hands-on experience managing paid acquisition campaigns across platforms such as Meta, Google, and Apple Search Ads.
  • Experience with mobile attribution tools, measurement frameworks, and attribution methodologies.
  • Proven ability to manage complex cross-functional programs spanning Marketing, Product, Analytics, and Technology teams.
  • Strong understanding of app lifecycle marketing, including acquisition, onboarding, engagement, and retention strategies.
  • Experience with analytics and reporting platforms such as Adobe Analytics, Tableau, or similar tools.
  • Experience managing external agencies, vendors, and strategic partners.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including reporting, pivot tables, and data analysis.
  • Strong business communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Experience supporting ecommerce, retail, or B2B business environments.
  • Direct experience leading mobile app growth, user acquisition, or engagement programs for consumer-facing applications.
  • Experience with App Store Optimization (ASO) platforms, testing methodologies, and best practices.
  • Experience managing acquisition budgets, forecasting performance, and evaluating ROI.
  • Knowledge of customer lifecycle marketing, segmentation strategies, and retention programs.
  • Experience designing and interpreting A/B tests and experimentation frameworks.
  • Understanding of mobile privacy frameworks, SKAdNetwork, conversion tracking, postbacks, and mobile measurement trends.
  • Experience influencing product roadmaps based on marketing insights, user behavior, and performance data.
  • Advanced proficiency with analytics and data visualization platforms such as Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar tools.
