Argon Agency is hiring a full-time SEO Copywriter with strong research instincts, sharp writing ability, and direct experience in behavioral healthcare marketing. This role is responsible for developing thoughtful, search-optimized content across websites, blogs, LinkedIn, Google Business Profile posts, and other digital platforms.
We are looking for someone who understands how to write content that performs, but also respects the sensitivity of the industries we serve. Much of our work is rooted in addiction treatment, mental health, behavioral healthcare, and clinical service lines. The right candidate will know how to balance SEO strategy with accuracy, compliance awareness, and human-centered storytelling.
This is not a role for someone who relies on AI to produce generic content. We are looking for a true writer and researcher. Someone who can think critically, interview subject matter experts, ask better questions, interpret search intent, understand audience needs, and create original work that sounds like it was written by a real person with real insight.
Responsibilities
The SEO Copywriter will be responsible for researching, planning, writing, and refining content for a variety of healthcare and service-based clients. Core responsibilities include:
  • Conducting topic research for behavioral health, addiction treatment, mental health, general healthcare, and related industries
  • Writing high-quality SEO articles, blog posts, service pages, location pages, landing pages, LinkedIn content, and Google Business Profile posts
  • Developing content that aligns with search intent, brand voice, clinical accuracy, and user needs
  • Using SEMrush, Google Search Console, Google Analytics, and other SEO tools to guide content strategy and evaluate performance
  • Performing keyword research, competitor analysis, content gap research, and SERP review
  • Writing original, well-structured articles that are informative, readable, and strategically optimized
  • Interviewing clinicians, founders, leadership teams, admissions staff, subject matter experts, and other stakeholders to create more accurate and differentiated content
  • Translating complex clinical or healthcare topics into approachable, trustworthy copy
  • Creating content calendars and topic recommendations based on research, ranking opportunities, seasonality, audience questions, and client priorities
  • Optimizing content for on-page SEO, including headings, metadata, internal linking, keyword usage, readability, and structure
  • Repurposing long-form content into LinkedIn posts, Google Business Profile updates, social captions, and other platform-specific copy
  • Reviewing existing website content for quality, originality, accuracy, and SEO improvement opportunities
  • Maintaining strong attention to tone, compliance-sensitive language, grammar, formatting, and brand consistency
  • Collaborating with account managers, SEO strategists, designers, web developers, and client teams
  • Staying current on SEO best practices, healthcare marketing standards, and changes in search behavior

Required Experience
Candidates must have demonstrated experience writing for behavioral healthcare, including one or more of the following areas:
  • Addiction treatment
  • Mental health treatment
  • Detox, residential, PHP, IOP, or outpatient care
  • Trauma-informed care
  • Co-occurring disorders
  • Eating disorders
  • Psychiatric care
  • Therapy, counseling, or clinical treatment programs

Candidates must also have working knowledge of:
  • SEMrush
  • Google Search Console
  • Google Analytics
  • Keyword research
  • Search intent
  • On-page SEO
  • Content optimization
  • Website content structure
  • Local SEO content
  • Google Business Profile posting
  • LinkedIn article writing

Bonus Experience
Additional consideration will be given to candidates with experience writing for:
  • General healthcare
  • Women's health
  • Pregnancy, birth, and postpartum care
  • Midwifery
  • Birth work
  • Functional medicine
  • Private medical practices
  • Healthcare founders, clinicians, or treatment center leadership
  • General marketing topics

What We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate is a strong writer first. SEO knowledge matters, but the writing must be clear, original, emotionally intelligent, and grounded in real research.
We are looking for someone who can:
  • Write in a distinct voice without sounding templated
  • Conduct real research beyond the first page of Google
  • Interview subject matter experts and turn conversations into meaningful content
  • Understand sensitive healthcare topics and write with care
  • Avoid generic AI-style language, filler, fluff, and recycled phrasing
  • Think strategically about why a topic matters and who it serves
  • Create content that is useful to readers, not just written for rankings
  • Follow brand voice guidelines while still bringing fresh ideas
  • Take feedback well and revise with precision
  • Manage deadlines across multiple clients and content types
  • Understand that quality content requires thought, curiosity, and responsibility

Requirements
  • Proven SEO copywriting experience
  • Behavioral healthcare writing experience is required
  • Strong portfolio of published writing samples
  • Experience using SEMrush, Google Search Console, and Google Analytics
  • Ability to write long-form and short-form content
  • Strong research and interviewing skills
  • Understanding of local SEO and Google Business Profile strategy
  • Ability to work across multiple client voices and industries
  • Excellent grammar, structure, and editing skills
  • Strong communication and deadline management
  • Comfortable collaborating with creative, SEO, and client-facing teams

Compensation: $52,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
About Argon Agency
In the ashes of 2020, a team of creatives came together and noticed a void in the digital marketing realm. A black hole, if you will. Traditional digital marketing was a series of smoke screens, empty promises, one size fits all cookie cutter campaigns, and charts and graphs that look pretty, but don't actually mean much. There had to be a better way. There had to be a way to provide clear, customized marketing campaigns that provided results, not just pretty charts and vague answers as to where a budget went. From that realization was born Argon Agency.
