Job description


Reddit is seeking an experienced, highly analytical International Payroll Lead to own and scale our global payroll operations across LATAM, EMEA, and APAC regions. As a key individual contributor with deep cross-functional influence, you will combine data-driven execution, meticulous attention to detail, and international tax compliance to support a rapidly growing workforce. Reporting to the Sr. Global Payroll Manager, this role will help to drive major strategic initiatives-including Workday enhancements and global payroll vendor implementations-to build scalable, best-in-class operational processes. The role partners closely with Payroll Vendors and internal teams across People, Finance, Tax, Legal, Treasury, Equity, and Internal Audit to deliver accurate, timely, compliant, and employee-centered payroll outcomes.

What You'll Do:

  • Global Payroll Execution & Oversight: 
    • Manage, audit, and execute multi-country payroll delivery across 15+ international countries, including payroll inputs, validation, approvals, funding coordination, reconciliations, statutory filings, and post-payroll activities ensure high accuracy and strict adherence to strict regional pay schedules.
    • Lead the payroll calendar and operating cadence across countries, proactively managing dependencies, cutoffs, exceptions, and risks to ensure employees are paid accurately and on time.
    • Partner with local in-country payroll providers to maintain strict adherence to regional pay schedules and statutory processing windows.
  • Compliance & Equity Management: Oversee global equity compensation payroll processing (RSUs, Stock Options) and ensure full regulatory compliance across international tax jurisdictions, localized statutory benefits, and reporting requirements.
  • Systems & Scaling Initiatives: Act as functional lead for payroll technology projects, leveraging Workday to automate workflows, optimize system configurations, build custom reporting, and partner with the Sr. Global payroll Manager to implement upcoming enterprise Global Payroll solutions.
  • Cross-Functional & Vendor Management: Partner with Benefits, People Operations, Legal, and Finance; manage external vendor relationships and third-party tax fulfillment partners to ensure seamless funds reconciliation and local tax compliance.
  • Process Controls: Establish, document, and enforce global payroll policies, SOX controls, and standard operating procedures to streamline audit readiness (401k, Workers' Comp, Financial Audits).
  • Strategic Growth Projects: Support special business initiatives, including M&A integrations, new country market entries, and business-critical cross-functional launches.

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience: 5-7+ years of progressive payroll operations experience in a high-growth, publicly traded tech company with a global footprint.
  • Education : Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in payroll, accounting, finance, human resources, or a related field.
  • Systems Expertise: Advanced proficiency with Workday Payroll (reporting, configuration, integrations) and global payroll software platforms.
  • Technical & Analytical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets (vlookups, index/match, pivot tables) for complex data analysis, reconciliation, and audit modeling.
  • Domain Expertise: Thorough understanding of global equity taxation, statutory compliance, international labor laws, and multi-currency payroll distribution.
  • Execution & Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving capabilities, high discretion handling confidential data, and exceptional communication skills to collaborate seamlessly across teams.
