Job description

Minimum qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, and 3 years of experience in the job offered or in a Test Engineer-related occupation.
  • Position requires 3 years of experience in the following: Developing test methodologies, writing test plans, creating test cases, or defining and documenting test strategy for various RF technologies including cellular, WiFi, BT, and UWB on both MLB and OTA levels for consumer hardware; Analyzing systems architecture and applying systems thinking to decompose systems into testable components; Applying knowledge of the product development lifecycle to software testing, firmware testing, and hardware performance validation; Designing, writing, testing, and maintaining software applications using one or more programming languages; and Utilizing test automation tools or creating and using test automation frameworks to set up test functions and evaluate outcomes.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $201,100 - $218,000 15% bonus target equity benefits determined by role, level, and location. The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as well as our first party devices and services that combine the best of Google AI, software, and hardware. Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and use of automation tools and scripts to improve product health and engineering efficiency;
  • Develop comprehensive test plans based on product strategies and lead review sessions with cross-functional teams;
  • Define and promote new test frameworks, preconditions, and reporting functions to enable effective functionality testing;
  • Drive initiatives to create new or improve existing test infrastructure for increased productivity in test development and deployment;
  • Influence product design and the release cycle by participating in design reviews and contributing to code quality; and Analyze test outcomes, debug failures, and synthesize data into actionable insights for engineering and product stakeholders. International Travel Required
