Job description

As a Security Officer, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Commercial Real Estate, Healthcare, Education, Government and more.

Pay Rate: $25.21 / hr.

Please note that this position requires the ability to reliably commute to Sparks, Nevada.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide professional level customer service to our clients by carrying out safety and security procedures, site-specific policies and, when appropriate, emergency response activities
  • Efficiently handle emergency situations, providing safety and direction to clients and customers
  • Answer and respond to events and situations received in person, via phone and/or radio
  • Accurately document routine and unusual events occurring on or near the facilities (accomplished via shift reports, pass-downs logs, incident reports logs, or other established methods)
  • Provide security support the data center during times of inclement weather or other infrastructure interruptions
  • Conduct patrols around the business and perimeter on foot and with a vehicle
  • Ensure people entering and exiting the office space correctly sign-in by assigning the appropriate badge and applying the approved compliance codes
  • Mitigate unwanted intruders and see that visitors are always escorted

QUALIFICATIONS (MUST HAVE):

  • High school diploma or equivalent, or 5 years of verifiable experience
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Possess, or be able to obtain, the Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
  • Minimum of two (2) years of physical security experience within the last five (5) years
  • Advanced computer skills and proficiency; proficiency with Microsoft Office and/or Google Applications
  • Ability to speak, read, and write the English language fluently
  • Proficiently skilled in the use of technology such as a desktop computer and mobile applications to document activities and tasks
  • Ability to prioritize workload based on urgency
  • Ability to quickly and efficiently analyze high stress situations to determine the proper communication of events and to dispatch the proper teams to determine the best course of action to take

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (NICE TO HAVE):

  • Active Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) registration
  • Military or law enforcement experience
