The API Analyst is responsible for supporting the design, implementation, testing, documentation, and maintenance of Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) that enable seamless integration between internal and external systems. This role serves as the bridge between business stakeholders, software developers, product teams, and third-party partners to ensure API solutions meet business requirements, security standards, and technical specifications.

The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, understands RESTful API’s and web services, and enjoys solving technical integration, challenges while improving the overall customer and developer experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze business and technical requirements to define API integration solutions
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Software Developers, QA Engineers, and business stakeholders to gather API requirements
  • Document API specifications, workflows, request/response models, and technical requirements
  • Assist with API design reviews to ensure scalability, performance, security, and maintainability
  • Test APIs using tools such as Postman, Swagger, or similar platforms
  • Support third party integrations by providing technical guidance and troubleshooting assistance
  • Work with QA teams to validate API functionality during software releases
  • Assist in identifying opportunities to improve API standards, governance, and development processes
  • Ensure APIs comply with company security, authentication, and data privacy standards
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related field
  • 2 to 5 years of experience working with APIs, software integrations, or technical business analysis
  • Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and JSON
  • Ability to translate technical concepts into business-friendly language
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic understanding of SQL and relational databases
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience
  • Experience with GraphQL APIs
  • Familiarity with API gateways and integration platforms
  • Experience working in Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud microservices architecture
