Intrinsic, an AI robotics group at Google, is dedicated to transforming the landscape of industrial robotics through advances in AI, perception, and simulation. The team's mission is to make intelligent robotics accessible and usable for millions of businesses, entrepreneurs, and developers worldwide.
Intrinsic is seeking a Product Counsel to lead legal strategy for product development. This role partners closely with cross-functional teams-including product managers, engineers, and designers-to guide the entire product lifecycle, review new features, evaluate risks, and build compliance pathways. The Product Counsel will provide clear, practical legal guidance that supports both responsible innovation and business objectives.
Key responsibilities include advising R&D, engineering, and product teams on a broad range of legal and policy considerations for the development and deployment of intelligent robotics systems. The role collaborates with legal, policy, regulatory, and compliance teams to ensure readiness for emerging laws and regulations, and communicates directly with senior management on high-priority legal matters. The Product Counsel will also help develop and improve the use of AI tools within the legal team.
Candidates should have a JD from an accredited law school, at least 7 years of attorney-level experience in both private practice and in-house roles, and expertise in product, IP, commercial, competition, and privacy law. Admission to the California Bar (or equivalent authorization) is required. Experience advising technology companies, working with emerging technologies, and mentoring junior legal professionals will distinguish top candidates.
