Job description

Job Summary:
Google is a leading technology company, and they are seeking a Principal Architect in the Google Public Sector. This role involves working with cross-functional teams to help public sector customers design and implement cloud strategies, while also serving as a technical and business advisor to drive effective solutions.
Responsibilities:
• Build a trusted advisory relationship with education accounts and engage with Architects, Vice Presidents, Chief Technical Officers and Chief Information Officers to identify customer priorities, technical objections, and design strategies encompassing the entire Google ecosystem to deliver value and resolve blockers.
• Provide domain expertise around public cloud and enterprise technology, and promote Google Cloud with public sector customers, at conferences, and online.
• Make recommendations on integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms, and application infrastructure required to implement a complete solution while providing best practices to customers to optimize Google Cloud effectiveness.
• Manage the enterprise architecture relationship with customers by collaborating with specialists, product management, technical teams, and more.
• Onsite client-facing work at least 3 days a week with Stanford University.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• 10 years of experience as an enterprise architect or equivalent experience in a customer-facing role.
• Experience with higher education markets in the state of California.
• Experience in cloud market insights and cloud computing across applications, infrastructure, storage, platforms, or data.
• Experience engaging with, and presenting to, technical stakeholders and executive leaders.
Preferred:
• Experience designing, building and working with generative and agentic AI solutions.
• Experience with structured Enterprise Architecture practices in hybrid cloud deployments and on-premise-to-cloud migration deployments and roadmaps.
• Experience in building, architecting, and designing/implementing highly distributed global cloud-based systems.
• Knowledge of technology solutions with the ability to learn and work with new emerging technologies, methodologies, and solutions in the Cloud/IT technology space.
