Job description

Essential Functions:
Responsibilities:
  1. To represent Goodwill Industries at the worksite in a professional manner by wearing appropriate attire including safety vests, safety goggles/glasses, steel toe shoes, ear plugs, uniform shirt, and long pants.
  2. To preform work to contract specifications as directed by either the Lead Worker or Site Supervisor.
  3. Check all fluid levels on a daily basis prior to use and add as necessary to riding equipment.
  4. Check fluid levels on weed eaters and edger's and add as appropriate.
  5. All equipment is to be free of grass clippings at the end of the shift by either washing or blowing.
  6. All riding lawnmowers are to be covered with tarps unless they are in the mechanic shop.
  7. All weed eaters, edger's, blowers, and other hand operated equipment must be stored in the appropriate locations.
  8. Prepare fuel as directed by the Lead or Site Supervisor.
  9. To operate weed eaters according to site standards, (beginning at the curb side and working inward).
  10. To weed eat around poles, concrete pillars, flower beds, shrubbery, buildings, and any other location deemed necessary by the Lead or Site Supervisor.
  11. To edge along walks, entrances, and streets.
  12. To use blower to remove debris.
  13. To remove weeds from flower beds and to perform trimming and pruning as needed.
  14. To plant vegetation on a periodic basis.
  15. To clean ditches to ensure proper drainage.
  16. To remove trash and other extraneous debris and dispose of properly.
  17. To perform all duties as required per contract/Goodworks and Goodwill management.
  18. To perform additional duties as assigned.

Skills and Abilities:
1. Must be able to interact cordially andproductively with other Goodworks/Goodwill personnel.
2. Must be able to market Goodwill andexplain the mission to the general public.
3. Must be able to read, write andcommunicate effectively in English.
4. Must be able to work a flexibleschedule on short notice, including approved overtime and weekends, andoccasionally long, or extended hours.
5. Must be able to lift and carry objectsup to 50 lbs.
6. Must be able to engage in prolongedstanding, walking and in frequent bending, stooping, and stretching andclimbing stairs.
7. Must be able to function in a hecticwork environment with occasional periods of high stress.
8. Must use proper protective equipment.
Requirements:
  1. Ability to operate machinery needed to perform essential functions of the job.
  2. Must be able to pass Federal background check.
  3. Must be able to pass drug screening.

Working Conditions:
Frequent physical exertion, exposure to inclement weather,temperature variations, equipment fumes and chemicals.
