POSITION EXPECTATION


Position Expectations  
The Donation Attendant assists the Store Management Team with the essential support in overall operations, excellent customer service and sales floor functions. This position represents Goodwill by assisting customers and donors in a prompt, friendly manner by unloading donations, providing receipts and sorting donations.  

Responsibilities 

  • Ensures that quality customer service is presented and provided by employees in a timely and courteous manner to all customers, donors, and other employees.  
  • Monitors the back donation room.  
  • Assists and has flexibility in the overall daily operations within the store.  
  • Assists with loading and unloading store deliveries.  
  • Pre-sorts all donations per guidelines, as well as deliver presorted items to processing area.  
  • Maintains a neat and clean donation area, interior and exterior.  
  • Completes any other assignments designated by store management team.  
  • Ensures that store and surrounding premises are kept clean and free of safety hazards, and that safety procedures are understood and followed by all store employees.  
  • Collects all found money and donated jewelry daily. Money found must be handed in to the manager with the name of the employee and an email along with paperwork needs to be emailed within the same day. The jewelry is sent back to e-collectibles.  
  • Takes responsibility for custodial duties such as cleaning the restrooms & break room, sweeping, mopping & trash removal.  

Environmental Factors 
Duties will be conducted at the retail store, warehouse, or other assigned Goodwill locations where no cooling or heating will be available. Exposure to extreme heat, cold, dust, animal hair and sometimes humidity.

Physical Factors

  • Able to lift, carry, push, and pull a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Prolonged standing, walking, reaching, stooping, lifting, pulling, bending, kneeling.

Education, Experience, and Requirements

  • High school/ GED completion preferred.  
  • Proven reliability in meeting attendance expectations.
  • Must be able to continuously perform repetitive work, at a set pace. 
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills with excellent communication skills.  
  • Bilingual a plus.  
  • Exhibits a high level of integrity and business ethics.  
  • Exhibits a high level of adaptability and flexibility.  Â
