What you'll be doing:

  • Responsible for dusting, mopping, sweeping, and damp mopping tile floors
  • Dust and clean walls, doors, windows and other surfaces above floor
  • Dust, clean and polish store fixtures
  • Perform manual tasks requiring moderate physical strength which may include the use of buffers, floor scrubbers, and other cleaning equipment deemed necessary to perform the daily duties of the position
  • Maintain and keep building exterior clean from debris
  • Empty trash from offices and other assigned areas and place in designated areas for disposal
  • Ensure the cleanliness of all restrooms and replenishes supplies as needed
  • Notify supervisor of equipment and facilities needing repair or replacement
  • Comply with Goodwill of North Georgia’s International Organization for Standardization (ISO) process and the agency’s safety and security policies and procedures
  • Perform other related janitorial work as required and/or instructed

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education preferred
  • One (1) year of housekeeping, janitorial, or custodian experience preferred
  • Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment preferred
  • Ability to maintain a positive demeanor while engaged in repetitive tasks
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with supervisor and staff

Working Environment Conditions/ Requirements:

  • Must be able to meet all physical requirements to perform the duties of the position including the ability to bend, reach, grasp, stand and/or walk for extended periods of time as well as the ability to push, pull and lift up to 30lbs with or without accommodation
  • Must be able to work in all types of conditions including heat, cold and dust
