Job description

Under the direction of the General Manager, place processed donations in proper area on sales floor, sort, box and label hangers by type. Major duties include maintaining cleanliness of sales floor, receiving incoming donations and issuing receipts, greet and assist donors/customers.

Essential Functions/Duties

1. Politely and professionally receive donations from donors and issue donation receipts for articles donated.

2. Rotate stock on a timely basis and in accordance with established procedures; bring stock to sales floor in a timely manner.

3. Place and present all merchandise on appropriate textile racks and wares shelves in accordance with merchandising policies and procedures.

4. Sort, box and label hangers by type.

5. Assist in textile color rotation per established procedure.

6. Greet each customer with a courteous, friendly and professional attitude; provide prompt, efficient, and accurate customer service at all times.

7. Direct customers to proper area and provide general information as requested.

8. Stay alert and watch for shoplifting; notify store management on suspicious activity.

9. Keep sales floor and production area clean and safe.

10. Maintain well groomed appearance and appropriate dress code including name badge and vest.

Additional Functions/Duties

1. Refer all customer complaints to management in a timely manner.

2. Answer telephone promptly using established etiquette procedure.

3. Follow Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) procedures and other Public Protection Guidelines.

4. React calmly and respond to emergency situations.

5. Perform other duties as assigned by the General Manager.

Education and/or Experience

High School education or equivalent is preferred. Previous retail experience is highly preferred.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have beginner knowledge of the Internet and the ability look up information.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Special Conditions of Employment

1. Regularly lift and /or move up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance.

2. Vision abilities required by this job include: close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

3. Standing and walking for long periods of time.

4. Ability to stoop, bend, kneel, push and pull.

5. Sufficient mobility to turn from side to side and the ability to lean and remove garments from containers.

6. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
