Summary:
The incumbent in this position will be responsible for working directly with the community; assisting individuals in filling out applications for multiple programs included but not limited to: Supplemental Nutrition Program (SNAP), Medicaid, Medicare, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF); participate in special projects; recruit, and train volunteers at Food Bank facility; perform Job Readiness Training; advocate for consumers in the workforce to promote successful relationships between employers and employees; travel between various locations. In addition, this individual will perform other duties as assigned by management.
The ideal candidate will be proficient in the above listed skills with customer service experience preferably in the public sector, (non-profit is preferred). Upholding a high level of professionalism while interacting with the public is required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required. (Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions). Those duties essential to this position in addition to those listed above are as follows: must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.; mobility-required to stand or sit for long periods; frequently walk, lift, bend, crouch. Hours are primarily weekdays with occasional evening work and rotating weekends.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty to a satisfactory standard.
Education/Experience:
High School Diploma or GED plus a minimum of six months of work directly related to experience in customer service (preferred w/knowledge of state and federal programs). Have basic knowledge of computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, and Gmail). A valid TXDL/driving record acceptable to agency liability carrier is required for this position. Reliable transportation is a must.

TB Test documentation within the last four years

Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers,
common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited
standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
and have knowledge of proprietary software as needed.
