Heavy Equipment Mechanic


Experience: 5+ years preferred

Job Overview

Weโ€™re looking for aย skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic who can handle repairs and maintenance on a wide range of equipment in both the shop and the field. If you know your way around diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems and you can work independently we want to talk to you.

Youโ€™ll work on equipment such asย excavators, dozers, backhoes, skid steers, mini-excavators, dump trucks, semi tractor trailers, heavy and light trucks, trailers, and small gas engine equipment.
Tools and uniforms are provided.

What Youโ€™ll Do
  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy equipment and trucks
  • Work independently in the shop and out in the field
  • Handle emergency repairs on a rotatingย 24/7 on call schedule
  • Perform all work safely and follow company safety rules
  • Keep up a professional attitude with coworkers, customers, and vendors
  • Do solid, quality work thatโ€™s built to last
  • Keep learning and improving your skills
  • Help guide or mentor less experienced mechanics when needed
What You Need to Know
  • Heavy equipment repair (diesel and gas)
  • Hydraulics repair and troubleshooting
  • Electrical diagnostics and repairs
  • Welding, cutting, and basic fabrication
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to explain issues clearly verbally and in writing
Requirements
  • Valid driverโ€™s license
  • Ability to pass a DOT physical
  • CDL Class A is a plus
  • Ability to read service manuals, prints, and technical drawings
  • Basic computer skills for reports and documentation
  • Willing to travel when needed
Schedule & Expectations
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Flexible availability required, including:
    • Paid on-call rotation (every 3rd week)
