Roles and Responsibilities
  • Manage an assigned portfolio of accounts for collection/credit extension
  • Initiate and respond to internal and external communications to promote collection and order processing
  • Negotiate, implement and monitor payment plans with customers
  • Resolve critical/complex customer account issues
  • Meet cash collection targets
  • Document financial arrangements and communicate with stakeholders
  • Acts within established Callaway Golf policies on all credit matters
  • Authority to change risk categories and increase credit limits within delegated authorities
  • Ability to issue final demands and seek external collections for non-performing accounts with balances of less than $10,000
  • Package accounts for external collection process and confirm all necessary steps have been taken in making a final contact with customers and sales reps
  • Additional activities assigned by the Sr. Credit Manager
  • Provides recommendations for final demands and external collections on matters above $5,000
  • Approve credit limit increases up to $20K or $20% of existing line not to exceed $100K.
  • Account reconciliations
Technical Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
  • Understanding of US and Canadian monetary systems with basic conversion skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain relationships with customers and Callaway Golf personnel to advance the business
  • Ability to coordinate credit activities with Sales goals
  • Intermediate knowledge of principles governing credit extension, accounting, cash posting, shipping, claims and other related operations
  • Strong ability to analyze and reconcile accounting data and customer account activity
  • Basic understanding of financial instruments to secure an account balance or credit line (i.e. UCCs, LOC Promissory Notes, and personal guarantees)
  • Proven negotiation and collection skills; ability to lead verbal communication resulting in collections
  • Excellent decision making skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Pursues additional knowledge in the Credit field
  • Basic proficiency in the use of a Personal Computer-Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, SAP, and the internet
  • Results oriented – verbal and written communication skills
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Minimum 5 years of credit experience, preferably in banking & customer service or a corporate credit environment with customer service emphasis.
Physical Requirements (if applicable)
  • Work is performed in a designated professional office workstation and environment.
  • Extensive use of office equipment to include computer, calculator, copier, fax, and other business related machines and software.
  • Ability to travel preferred.
