Job description

Position Purpose: Assist golf management in all aspects of the golf operation of Thornberry Creek at Oneida. Essential Functions: Completes all transactions on the point of sale (POS) system and handles all forms of payments in accordance with the cash handling procedures. Communicates verbally as well as in writing to customers on a daily basis to satisfy guest questions to ensure guest satisfaction.

Meet and greet guests as they arrive. Takes tee times via phone and in person throughout the day and keeps tee sheet up to date and accurate. Receive and record necessary arrangements for reservations and special functions for the Golf Course Help to facilitate: Tee Sheet operation Golf outing preparations Golf league check ins Calculation of league results Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications: Strong customer service skills and personality Basic knowledge of golf product use, functionality, and quality, as well as apparel Basic mathematical skills necessary to operate a cash register, make change, total guest checks, count total bank, prepare cash drops, total all other charges, and understand portion sizes as relating to pricing. Ability to read, write and speak the English language sufficient to communicate with guests. Ability to effectively deal with customer complaints and concerns in a friendly and positive manner.

This involves listening to the nature of the concern, demonstrating empathy with the customer and providing positive and proactive solutions. Ability to operate a keyboard and Point of Sale procedures to handle cashier functions. Knowledge of the golf game and golf etiquette are necessary.

Education, Experience & License Requirements: Strong customer service skills and personality Knowledge and understanding of the rules of play and etiquette of golf is required. Basic knowledge of golf product use, functionality, and quality, as well as apparel No prior golf course experience is required but 1-2 years of previous golf course employment is preferred. Must be 18 years old and able to obtain a bartender's licenses within 30 days of employment and maintain such licensure.

A current valid driver's license is required. This is a seasonal position
