Job description

Northwood Club is a premier country club established in 1946 and located in Dallas, Texas, best known for hosting the 1952 U.S. Open. We just re-opened our newly renovated PGA Championship Golf Course which was named #1 Best Golf Course Renovation in Avid Golfer Magazine. The club also has a Distinguished Clubs of the World Emerald Designation for outstanding member service. Our staff consists of a wide range of professionals who are well recognized in areas of Tennis, Golf and Culinary. We are currently looking for a part-time team member to join our Golf Operations department.

Position Title: Golf Operations Cart Fleet & Golf Facilities Technician

General Purpose: Responsible for the daily care, presentation, and light maintenance of the golf cart fleet, as well as supporting the overall cleanliness and organization of key Golf Operations areas. This position plays a key role in ensuring that carts are consistently clean, properly functioning, and presented at a high standard for member use. Additionally, this role supports facility upkeep items that contribute to the overall presentation and experience at the Club.

Essential Duties:

  • Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of the entire golf cart fleet on a daily basis.
  • Detail clean golf carts, including periodic deep cleaning as directed.
  • Inspect carts for cleanliness, damage, or performance issues and report or address as appropriate.
  • Identify and correct minor mechanical issues such as rattles, loose parts, or basic adjustments.
  • Coordinate with management or vendors for carts requiring additional service or repair.
  • Ensure all carts are properly staged, organized, and ready for daily use.
  • Monitor and maintain sand bottle inventory, refill stations, and ensure all bottles are stocked and ready for play.
  • Maintain club cleaning stations by checking water levels, soap mixture, and overall cleanliness daily.
  • Clean and maintain wooden trash receptacles and other Golf Operations fixtures, including periodic re-staining as needed.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and professional appearance throughout Golf Operations areas.
  • Support general facility upkeep tasks as directed by the Golf Operations management.
  • Adhere to all Property and Department policies and procedures.
  • Observe all safety and security procedures. Use equipment and materials properly. Report potentially unsafe conditions.
  • Maintain flexibility to take on additional tasks as directed by the Department Manager/Supervisor.
  • Attend staff meetings when required.

Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous experience with golf carts, light mechanical work, or facility maintenance is a plus.

Language Skills: Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.

Mathematical Skills: Basic math skills required.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions and identify potential issues with equipment or facilities.

Physical Demands: Frequently stands and walks; uses hands to handle tools and equipment; reaches with hands and arms. Occasionally stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls. Regularly lifts up to 25 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds.

Vision Requirements: Regularly uses close, distance, color, and peripheral vision as well as depth perception. Ability to adjust focus.

Environment/Noise: Works in an outdoor environment on a regular basis. Exposure to heat and varying weather conditions. Noise level is moderate.

Certificates/Licenses: Must be at least 18 years of age with a valid driver's license.

Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Preferences:

  • Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining a high standard of presentation
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills preferred
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned responsibilities
  • Must be willing and able to work weekdays and one weekend day, with some flexibility based on operational needs
  • Golf experience is helpful but not required
