The Woodlands Country Club, Palmer Course - The Woodlands, TX

We are seeking an experienced golf course superintendent to continue our execution of excellence as the leader of our agronomy team at The Woodlands Country Club -Player Course. This position is under The Woodlands Country Club umbrella of five different golf courses consisting of a total of 99-holes of golf.

The Palmer Course is a 27-hole Arnold Palmer design with a scheduled golf course renovation for 2027 including greens, bunkers, irrigation, and many other course improvements. A candidate with prior construction or renovation experience is preferred.

Primary Responsibilities:

Manages, supervises, and orchestrates the golf course maintenance department day-to-day activities through maintaining quality standards, developing and retaining maintenance employees and exceeding guest and member expectations. The above must all be performed in a consistent manner within the financial parameters of the property and company. Daily communication with the General Manager and Golf Professionals on golf course conditions and playability. Routine communication with the membership highlighting department improvements and upcoming practices to be performed. Promotes Arcis Golf's philosophies throughout the golf course to employees, members, and guests. Always provides a professional image and ensures the golf course is in compliance with all federal, state and local laws. Directs, supervises, and manages the team of Assistant Superintendents, Technicians, Mechanics and Agronomy team members. Reviews monthly preliminary and final profit / loss statements with General Manager and Regional Superintendent. Experience, understanding, and knowledge of irrigation systems inclusive of programming, maintenance, trouble shooting, scheduling, moisture control and pump station management. Must be fully capable of application equipment calibration and operation. Must have considerable understanding of golf course maintenance equipment. Responsible for the Human Resources functions of the maintenance department by controlling turnover, motivating employees, focusing on employee development and retention and participating in regular employee meetings.

Note: Other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.

Education / Experience:

A degree in Turf Management or a related field, and supervisory experience required with a minimum of 10 years prior golf course experience with progressive responsibility. Must hold a State Certified Pesticide License. Special consideration will be given to those who exhibited exemplary performance at premier golf facilities.

Benefits & Compensation

Annual Salary: $110,000 - $125,000 plus potential bonus
