Requirements


The Starter/Marshal is responsible for check-in, managing pace of play, and ensuring the smooth operation of the golf course. The position requires excellent customer service skills, a strong knowledge of golf etiquette and rules, and the ability to communicate effectively with golfers.

Responsibilities


  • Greet golfers as they arrive at the course, check them in, and provide information about course conditions, upcoming events, and other relevant information.
  • Manage the pace of play on the golf course by monitoring the progress of golfers and adjusting tee times as needed.
  • Ensure that golfers adhere to course rules and etiquette, and enforce policies related to dress code, pace of play, and course safety.
  • Assist in the coordination of golf outings and tournaments, including assigning tee times, setting up the course, and managing the flow of play.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to all golfers, including answering questions, resolving complaints, and ensuring that all golfers have an enjoyable experience.
  • Maintain accurate records of tee times, course usage, and golfer feedback.
  • Monitor the condition of the course and promptly report any safety or maintenance issues to the Golf Course Superintendent.
  • Ensure that all golf carts are properly maintained and stored at the end of each day.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Strong knowledge of golf etiquette and rules.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with golfers, staff, and management.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
