Job description

We're hiring a seasonal, part-time, Greenskeeper for Tri-Mountain Golf Course! At Troon, we believe our associates are our greatest strength and competitive advantage. Whether you have a specialized trade or possess a knack for nurturing and preserving landscapes, there's an exciting opportunity for you to apply your skills at Tri- Mountain Golf Course!
As a Greenskeeper, you will be responsible for the landscaping and maintenance around the golf course. Ideal candidates have a passion for landscaping and nurturing our grounds. The knowledge of grounds maintenance is preferred. Ideal candidates have flexible schedules with availability to work extended hours during the golf and holiday season, as needed.
Our team has made a conscious effort to ensure strong protocols are in place to keep you and our patrons safe, so you can focus on the customer experience, landscape, and equipment maintenance.
Pay:
$17.13 per hour
Responsibilities:
  • Maintains clean and organized work areas on the golf course and maintenance facility
  • Course setup, moving and setting tee balls, picking up garbage, and changing pins.
  • Mows greens, approaches, fairways, rough, tees, and other areas
  • Waters tees, greens, and fairways; operates irrigation heads in dry areas needing additional water
  • Repairs the irrigation system, pipes, and irrigation heads as necessary
  • Grades and prepares soil base, lays sod and seeds greens, tees, and fairways
  • Trims and prunes hedges and shrubbery; cleans flower beds
  • Applies pesticides and fertilizer to the golf course
  • Operating small equipment, such as weed trimmers, blowers, edgers, and push mowers.
  • Aerifies greens, verticuts, and or mows tees and greens
  • Performs related duties as assigned by supervisor or manager

Education and Experience:
  • Must possess a valid driver's license
  • Ability to operate trucks and light motorized equipment.
  • Working knowledge of basic electricity and hydraulics related to an irrigation system, including automatic valves and controllers, and various types of pumps and pumping systems
  • Knowledge of agronomy, turf grass science, and the rules of golf
  • Ability to work carefully and ensure co-workers are working safely
  • Possess leadership qualities
  • Must have a willingness to learn
  • Must be driven and possess a strong work ethic
  • Must be dependable
  • Ability to understand and follow oral instructions

Working Conditions:
  • Frequently uses hands
  • Regularly stands, walks, sits, climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crouches, and crawls
  • Frequently lifts, moves, and carries up to 50 pounds; to push or pull up to 100 pounds
  • Regularly exposed to hot and/or humid conditions, toxic or caustic chemicals, moving mechanical parts, compact spaces, hot attic temperatures, and outside weather conditions
  • Noise level is moderate
