Overview

The Promontory Club is looking to fill a vacancy for a Golf Shop Attendant – Full time, Summer Seasonal.

The Golf Shop Attendantt will be responsible for running the day-to-day shop operations at The Hills Course at Promontory Club.  The shop attendant services the membership to ensure an exceptional golf experience.  Reports to the Head Golf Professional.

Will oversee assist in all areas of the Golf Shop

  • Member Relations
  • Checking In Golfers and Billing
  • Merchandise sales and organization
  • Phone and verbal communications
  • Assistance with events
  • Assist golf professionals with the tee sheet

The summer season will range from the end of June through the Early-October. This position will have the ability for top performers to continue their employment with Promontory after the summer season and become full time, permanent employee.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Be in possession of the daily tee sheet and monitor for updates throughout the shift.
  • Open communication with golf professionals and outside services
  • Keep retail shop neat and clean at all times.
  • Fold and restock all merchandise when needed.
  • Correctly charge members and guest for their rounds of golf.
  • Follow all opening and closing procedures.
  • Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries and unsafe work practices to management; complete safety training and certifications.
  • Always maintain a professional appearance and attitude.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Head Golf Pro.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS AND CERTIFICATIONS: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) equivalent is preferred; must be at least 16 years of age.

Experience Required

Excellent oral communication skills; self-motivated with desire to promote; service and customer focused attitude; enthusiastic, outgoing attitude and personality, patient and non-combative; organized and able to work in a busy environment where the priorities are changing; team player and professional.

WORKING KNOWLEDGE TO BE ACQUIRED ON JOB: Abide by Promontory policies and procedures and submit ideas for possible revision; work independently with little supervision; courteous and helpful with Promontory Club Members and employees; practice proper and timely communication among the entire golf department personnel and keep members satisfied and well informed.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to stand on feet for long periods of time; ability to spend time in an outdoor environment in the sun, rain and other conditions; ability to lift 30lbs regularly and the ability to lift up to 60lbs occasionally; must be willing to work various hours, nights, holidays and weekends when needed.

Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
