Job description

Known for its exceptional course and welcoming community, Olympic Hills Golf Club provides members with an exclusive experience focused on high-quality service, exceptional golf, and a variety of social and recreational activities. As a small private club, we pride ourselves on offering a tight-knit and personalized atmosphere for our staff, members and their families. The club is family-owned and free from any boards or committees, allowing management to make effective and impactful changes.

Olympic Hills Golf Club is seeking a dependable, hands-on Facilities & Building Manager to oversee the care, maintenance, cleanliness, safety, and day-to-day operation of the clubhouse and related club facilities. This position plays a key role in maintaining a high-quality member, guest, and employee experience by ensuring the building, grounds-adjacent clubhouse areas, mechanical systems, furniture, fixtures, equipment, and event spaces are clean, safe, functional, and well-presented.

The Facilities & Building Manager works closely with the General Manager and department heads to support daily club operations, preventative maintenance, seasonal setup, repairs, vendor coordination, and facility-related projects.

Job Responsibilities and Duties

  1. Keep the clubhouse, locker rooms, dining areas, event spaces, offices, patios, and back-of-house areas clean, safe, and well maintained.
  2. Handle routine maintenance and minor repairs, including basic plumbing, lighting, painting, carpentry, doors, locks, furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
  3. Monitor key building systems such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety, kitchen equipment, security, and other facility systems.
  4. Coordinate outside vendors and contractors for inspections, repairs, service calls, and facility projects.
  5. Maintain a preventative maintenance plan and track recurring service needs, supplies, tools, parts, and repair priorities.
  6. Walk the property regularly to identify safety concerns, cleanliness issues, needed repairs, and ways to improve the member and guest experience.
  7. Respond promptly to facility requests from management, department heads, staff, members, and guests.
  8. Assist with seasonal needs such as winterization, patio setup, outdoor furniture, trash and recycling, and special projects.
  9. Follow club policies and applicable safety, health, fire, and building standards, and communicate facility needs clearly to management.

Job Qualifications and Skills

  1. Previous experience in facilities maintenance, building management, property maintenance, or a related field.
  2. Strong hands-on maintenance skills and general knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, mechanical systems, and building repairs.
  3. Ability to troubleshoot problems, prioritize tasks, and complete work efficiently with minimal supervision.
  4. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects, vendors, and daily operational needs at the same time.
  5. Supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.
  6. Strong communication skills and the ability to work professionally with members, guests, vendors, managers, and employees.
  7. Ability to maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and a positive attitude in a member-facing workplace.
  8. Basic computer, email, scheduling, and recordkeeping skills preferred.
  9. Ability to work a generally Monday-Friday schedule while being available for occasional weekends, special events, weather-related needs, and after-hours emergencies as required.
  10. Must have a valid driver's license.

Physical Requirements

  1. Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, reach, lift, push, pull, and carry items throughout the workday.
  2. Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly and heavier items with assistance or proper equipment.
  3. Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  4. Ability to use ladders, hand tools, power tools, maintenance equipment, cleaning equipment, and carts safely.

Work Schedule

The normal expectation for this position is a 40-hour work week, Monday through Friday during standard operating hours. Because this role supports the daily operation, safety, and maintenance of the clubhouse and club facilities, the Facilities & Building Manager must also be willing to respond to emergency situations after hours and work occasional weekends when business needs, events, weather, or facility issues require it.

Benefits

This is a full-time position offering a competitive salary. Benefits include a 401(k) plan with company match, paid time off, health, dental, vision, and life insurance, golf course access, employee pricing on apparel and equipment, employee meals, and paid support for approved job-related certifications and skills training, including pool, boiler, safety, and building maintenance credentials.
