Classification: Non-Exempt
Position Goals
This job description for the Pro-Shop Assistant at Crossing Creeks Country Club provides criteria for the evaluation of the Pro-Shop Assistant position. The Pro-Shop Assistant at Crossing Creeks Country Club is responsible for working directly with customers by greeting, learning about their preferences, answering questions, setting tee times, checking members and guests into the tee sheet. The Pro-Shop Assistant will strive to create a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere for customers while maintaining the inventory, cleanliness, and ensuring compliance regulations are met.
Duties & Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Pro-Shop Manager, the Pro-Shop Assistant at Crossing Creeks Country Club will be
responsible for, but not limited to:
1. Maintaining a high level of top-notch customer service and professionalism to a wide range of diverse customers
2. Welcoming customers, while offering products, golf knowledge as well as snacks and drinks to members and guests
3. Setting Tee Times for members
4. Checking members and guests into the system and giving them a starter ticket
5. Verifying and handling cart rentals from members and guests by keeping track of renter's information
6. Ensuring everybody has signed a liability waiver
7. Verifying identification and age requirements of all customers for alcohol purchases and golf cart rentals
8. Restocking the fridge, merchandise, and snacks
9. Handling cash, credit and debit card transactions and membership account charges, ensuring charges are accurate and returning correct change to patrons; balancing the cash register
10. Building a rapport with regular customers to create a positive atmosphere
11. Understanding of Golf Etiquette and staying competent in all areas of the game of Golf
12. Having a thorough understanding and knowledge of all golf, merchandise, and beverage items on the POS system and the ability to recommend golf merchandise, upcoming tournaments, and encourage rental of simulators
13. Maintaining cleanliness of work areas throughout the day
14. Ensuring that the place of work and surrounding area is kept clean and organized at all times
15. Offering customers daily specials, as well as upsell alternatives to merchandise, events, or food and beverage
16. Encouraging private lessons, MGA/LGA inquiries, GHIN knowledge, tournament information, etc.
17. Having knowledge and the ability to operate Simulator Machines and assist members/guests as needed
18. Maintaining knowledge and use of the Range Ball Dispenser by properly handing out tokens and buckets and properly charging social members and guests for Range Buckets
19. Managing the overall Pro-Shop operations
20. Exhibiting pleasant and cheerful demeanor and maintaining a helpful attitude towards all customers, visitors, and staff
21. Complying with federal, state, and local regulations and department processes and procedures
22. Having and ensuring a good relationship between the other departments to ensure effective communication
23. Showing leadership and direction with co-workers and other staff members
24. Communicating appropriately with members, guests, and co-workers
25. Greeting all members and guests in a warm and welcoming manner
26. Adhering to and ensuring compliance with Crossing Creeks Country Club policies, procedures, and customer service standards
27. Participating in maintaining a safe, clean, and organized environment
28. Other duties as assigned
On Duty Behavior
1. Staff members may not recreate (play sports, swim, golf, racquet sports, etc.) while on duty
2. Alcohol consumption is not permitted while on duty
3. Smoking/vaping is not permitted while on duty; smoking/vaping is only allowed in designated area whilst "clocked out" on approved break
4. Members and guests are not to see or interpret staff as being overly attentive to their phones and/or personal electronic devices
5. No loitering; non-members and non-registered guest are not permitted to be loitering with staff

Education/Experience
  • TABC / Food Handling license required
  • Meets state minimum age to serve alcohol
  • Previous proven working experience as a Pro-Shop Assistant
