The Hospitality internship is designed for students enrolled in a Hospitality and Tourism Management degree or similar program seeking first-hand experience working at a luxury hospitality resort. Through the Hospitality Internship, participants will gain first-hand experience in the three most common areas of Hospitality: Guest Services, Food and Beverage, and Housekeeping. The program offers real-world experience by rotating through each area of service for four weeks and the opportunity to attend staff and management meetings.

We are recruiting for the Fall semester (August - December).
The Guest Services rotation will focus on the primary functions of the Guest Services team, which are to assist guests with luggage, property orientations, valet, and other requests as needed.
The intern will primarily work as a Guest Services Agent to gain an understanding of the Lodging front-of-house operations in a luxury hotel. They will learn about how the Guest Services team assists with a smooth arrival and departure for our guests and how they provide them with an introduction to the property, its offerings, and our legendary hospitality. The intern will also have an opportunity to shadow at the Front Desk and with a Lodging Manager to better understand all of the Lodging front-of-house functions.
The Food and Beverage rotation will focus on the why and how of front-of-house fine dining in the Dining Room at the Inn. The position duration will be 1 month of the 3-month summer internship and will focus on food running. The purpose of the Food Runner position is to present, carry, and run food, as well as clear plates by restaurant standards. Verbally provides accurate descriptions of various menu items and courses to guests.
The intern will gain on-the-job training in an entry-level position to be able to understand the caliber and intricacies that are in the food and beverage world. The intern will primarily focus on food running to grasp the standards, pace, and menu of the restaurant. Other opportunities will include shadowing our host team, attending beverage classes, and shadowing a dining manager.
The Housekeeping rotation will focus on the primary functions of Housekeeping which is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of all common areas and guest rooms of the Inn as well as operating the laundry for the entire resort.
The intern will primarily assist housemen and housekeepers in their daily duties to gain an understanding of the Lodging back-of-house operations in a luxury hotel. They will learn about vital roles that are necessary to keep property of this caliber functioning from behind the scenes. They will also have a chance to shadow a Housekeeping supervisor or manager to get an understanding of the coordination and inspections required to ensure that the department is running efficiently and achieving the high standards required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates need to be enrolled and actively working towards a Hospitality and Tourism Management degree or similar program.
Commitment: Applicants must be willing and able to commit to the entire period from May through August and be willing and able to work no less than 35 to 40 hours per week
Must comply with all company policies and procedures.
To perform the essential functions of this position, regular and consistent attendance is required.
Must be able to work well with other team members and managers, and interact with our guests.
