Job description

General Job Summary:

Will work on the golf course maintenance crew under the supervision of the superintendent or assistant superintendent to accomplish daily skilled duties required to provide our golfers with a superior playing experience.

Job Duties include but are not limited to:

- Daily course set up and changing cup placement

- Bunker raking

- Maintaining landscaped areas, keeping them clean of debris, weeds, and trash

- Mowing rough, trim mowing around bunkers as well as other features throughout the golf course

- Irrigation repair

- Tree trimming and removal

- Mowing fairway and approach

- Prompt communication to supervisor regarding issues on the course

- Weed eater work

- General routine cultural practices(i.e. overseeding, aerfication, topdressing, vertical mowing, rolling)

Job Requirements:

- Punctual and ready to work when on property

- Valid driver’s License

- Ability to manually labor for extended periods of time, lifting up to 50lbs frequently

- Transportation to and from work

- Availability to work into late afternoon/early evening when asked upon

- High school diploma

- Flexible schedule

- Positive attitude

- Desire to learn

- Ability to work well alone as well as with others

- Professionalism held above all

- Available on weekends if needed

Ideal Candidate(not required but preferred):

- 2-4 year degree in golf and turfgrass management

- Prior on course experience

- Knowledgeable on chemical/fertility applications and the equipment used

- Knowledge or prior experience working on Bentgrass greens

- General knowledge of disease identification and prevention

- Sound understanding of the golf course operation in its entirety

- Understanding of irrigation troubleshooting, repair, and water management practices involved with bentgrass.
