Golf Course Maintenance - Greenskeeper II - Full Time -Port St. Lucie, FL

We are currently hiring for Greenskeeper IIs who will be responsible for maintaining the grounds and turf of the golf course in playing condition as directed by the Golf Course Superintendent.

SUMMARY

The Greenskeeper II is responsible for maintaining the grounds and turf of golf course in playing condition as directed by Golf Course Superintendent.

Represent the PGA of America in the utmost professional manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Basic operation skills of all golf course maintenance equipment with emphasis on smaller walk mowers, triplex mowers, deck mowers, utility vehicles and implements.

Assist in project work, including drainage, laying sod, irrigation, seeding of greens, tees, fairways, approaches and trim work as directed.

While operating equipment and hand tools, that all necessary and supplied safety equipment is worn such as safety glasses and ear plugs. All tools and equipment are properly cleaned, stored and maintained as required.

Clean machines after use and makes minor adjustments to the equipment under the supervision of the mechanic.

Maintain fuel and fluid levels for all types of equipment on a daily basis and before use, inspect equipment before use and report problems or failure to the supervisor immediately.

Perform job tasks with little or no disruption to the members and guests playing the golf course, return all equipment to the designated location and keep the maintenance areas clean and free of clutter.

Water and fertilize tees, greens and fairways, under the direction of a certified applicator.

Pick up trash and debris while performing job duties.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

The ability to communicate and understand directions and concerns either directly or through an interpreter.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, and ratios to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

COLLABORATION AND TEAM WORK

Works harmoniously with others to get a job done, responds positively to instructions and procedures and is able to work well with staff while maintaining relationships, which breed productive disagreement and debate.
