Summary
This position performs intermediate clerical work in the daily operation of the golf course golf shop and driving range; coordinates the flow of golfers from the start of their round /trackman bay booking to its conclusion; monitors the pace of play and assists golfers with any questions or concerns; and all related work as required. Work is performed under regular supervision.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
This position is supervised by the Golf Shop Manager and overseen by the Manager on Duty or designee.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED:
None.
Essential Function Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provides outstanding service to each customer.
  • Greets customers and answers telephones in a polite and courteous manner, providing information on golf course and practice facility rules, regulations, fees, policies, and procedures.
  • Arranges tee-time reservations.
  • Assist with Trackman Bay reservations. Enforce trackman bay rules.
  • Assist with golf course clerical and administrative duties.
  • Assist with golf shop retail operations, organizing, labeling, displaying, and inventorying merchandise daily.
  • Receives, processes, and verifies the accuracy of all daily funds, registrations, and bank deposits at the golf course, utilizing the point-of- sale, tee-time reservation computer system, and Trackman Bay reservation system
  • Assist with educating patrons of our policies which include dress code, no outside instruction, facility usage, no outside food and beverage, etc.
  • Communicates with customers about financial matters such as rain checks, outstanding payments, and refunds.
  • Responds to all customer concerns, questions, and complaints in a positive, respectful, and courteous manner and report these comments to a supervisor.
  • Accurately document any incidents that may occur.
  • Assists with explaining and enforcing golf course rules and regulations; explains processes such as operating the range ball machine and golf cart GPS functions, Trackman software, and Tv's connected to Trackman Bays.
  • Verifies that customers have checked in for golf on course and properly records tee times and cart numbers.
  • Verifies that customers have check in to Trackman Bays and adhere to policies set in place.
  • Arranges players in proper starting order and maintain the pace of play on the course.
  • Maintains constant communication between all other outside services team members to notify them of slow play and any other concerns.
  • Fills in and/or covers for Outside Service Attendant
  • Establishes and maintains positive working relationships and cooperation with golf course staff, management, and customers to provide an excellent customer experience.
  • Acts as Manager-on-Duty in the absence of golf management team members.
  • Assists with the planning and facilitation of special golf activities, events, and tournaments.
  • Ensures coverage of assigned areas at all times during hours of operation
  • Maintains and cleans the starter area to provide a safe environment.
  • Maintain and cleans the Trackman Bay areas to provide a safe environment
  • Assists with course maintenance by fixing divots and ball marks, replacing course stakes, ropes, and signage where needed.
  • Assist throughout Trackman Bay rentals and events. Include cleaning, refilling golf balls, and other duties as assigned.
  • Repairs ball marks, and divots, and picks up trash on the course.
  • Maintains all records in accordance with the Records Retention Law.
  • Follows and implements all policies and procedures as described in the Palm Beach Gardens Golf Course Manual, the Community Services Division procedures, and the City of Palm Beach Gardens Policies and Procedures.
  • Acts as an ambassador of Sandhill Crane Golf Club and the City of Palm Beach Gardens both on and off the clock.
  • Performs any other related duties as required or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Previous customer service experience preferred.
  • General knowledge of the methods, materials, and practices used in golf course operations, and
  • Exceptional skills in customer service, organization, and time management, and
  • Exceptional ability to interact with the public, especially in person, or
  • Any related combination of education, training, and experience.

Special Qualifications/Preferences
  • Valid State of Florida Driver's License with a good driving record

Pension Plan: Provided through the Florida Retirement System (FRS). Choice between the Investment Plan with a one (1) year vesting schedule, and the Pension Plan with an eight (8) year vesting schedule. Mandatory 3% pre-tax contribution.
