Job description

Position Summary:   Candidate for this position must be highly motivated to work and supervise employees in day to day responsibilities. Must possess a strong work ethic, have confidence, and exhibit good decision making skills in the field of work. They should have a strong eye for detail pertaining to landscape maintenance and able to meet high performance standards in an upscale resort environment. Must be able to follow directions clearly, communicate to employees, and with management team to ensure maintenance responsibilities, standards, and goals met.

Pay Rate: The rate of pay listed on job boards are auto-generated numbers. Kiawah Island Golf Resort’s actual rate of pay will be determined during the hiring process.

Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree in Horticulture, Turf Grass Management, or related field strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in landscape maintenance and/or turf grass management.
  • Resort landscape maintenance and or/ golf course experience a plus.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and have own transportation to and from the resort.

 

Expectations & Responsibilities:

Work, lead, and supervise employees in aspects of landscape maintenance, which include, but not limited to:

  • Policing grounds for trash, litter, and debris
  • Planting bed maintenance
  • Enhancement bed maintenance and installation
  • Pruning
  • Mowing
  • Chemical application
  • Irrigation Maintenance
  • Must adhere to Company Core Values and Standards on a daily basis.

 

Essential Physical Requirements:

  • 100% standing during shift. Capable of working consecutive hours without sitting down. 
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to lift, bend, stoop and reach. 
  • Work outdoors year round in all weather conditions.
