Job Summary

  • Monitor and address work order statuses as assigned.
  • Prioritize and respond to these issues in a timely manner.
  • Complete projects as they are assigned including work in remodeling, light carpentry, general repairs, painting, tile work, lighting, refrigeration, etc.
  • Be aware of and ensure compliance with city, state and/or federal code.
  • Prep areas and apply interior paint, sanding, wallpaper application/repair as well as basic furniture and equipment repair.
  • Ensure guest rooms, restaurant, and public areas are maintained to company standard.
  • Communicate shift details to Manager and Front Office/Housekeeping based on work order completion and progress. Maintain continuous communication with Front Office during all shifts to ensure all complaints are addressed.
  • Have a thorough understanding of fire alarm procedures, emergency evacuation procedures and all safety related issues.
  • Maintain safe and clear exterior walking areas including landscaping, waste removal, and snow/ice management.
  • Ensure facilities buildings, workspaces, and company vehicles are clean, safe, and organized.
  • Use safe work practices daily. Report any unsafe areas to Director of Engineering.
  • Work effectively with other maintenance personnel in a positive, professional manner. Work with professionalism and high standards of guest services and quality of work.
  • Assist Maintenance Manager with additional assigned tasks and projects.

                              Compensation

                              This is an hourly position with the opportunity for part time or full-time hours and a potential wage range of $17.00 - $22.00 per hour. Final compensation package offer is subject to change based on a variety of complex factors unique to each candidate including experience, education, skill set, and applicable certifications. 

                              Key Skills & Experience Required 

                              • General maintenance or handy work experience with well-rounded skill set including basic carpentry, painting, and household repairs. 
                              • Experience in a hotel or resort setting a plus
                              • Available and willing to work flexible hours based on business needs including weekdays and weekends.
                              • Expresses sincere enthusiasm for the role and passion for maintenance.
                              • Must know how to prioritize, delegate, and respond in a timely fashion. Able to work under pressure, multi-task, and stay focused while maintaining hospitality.

                              Essential Functions of the Job

                              • Ability to remain standing for up to 10 hours (100% of shift).
                              • Ability to regularly move and lift up to 80 lbs.
                              • Ability to walk the property and grounds frequently.
                              • Ability to visibly survey property areas clearly.
                              • Ability to move up and down stairs frequently.
                              • Ability to climb and carry ladders.
                              • Ability to bend and reach frequently and repetitively during a shift.
                              • Ability to use repetitive manual dexterity.
                              • Ability to work outside in extreme weather for up to 8 hours.
                              • Ability to move quickly based on guest needs.
                              • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information effectively.
                              • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
                              • Ability to drive both company and personal vehicles, with valid driver’s license and satisfactory background check.
