Overview

The Lead Assistant Golf Professional is a vital leader within the Cutalong Golf Club team. Acting as a bridge between the Head Golf Professional and daily operations, this role ensures all Member and Resort Guest play is managed to the highest standards. You will coordinate with the Outside Services Team, execute premier tournaments, organize member league play, manage retail functions, and provide instruction to elevate the overall experience at Cutalong at Tributer Resort.

Responsibilities

Operational Leadership & Staff Supervision

  • Daily Management: Perform, manage, and supervise all duties correlating with the daily golf operation to ensure transactions are efficient and accurate.
  • Team Coordination: Work with the Outside Service Operation Manager and professional staff to ensure all daily tasks are completed to Cutalong standards.
  • Customer Excellence: Provide professional advice and concierge-level assistance to all Members and Resort Guests with a "service-first" mentality.
  • Proactive Communication: Act as a key liaison for the management team regarding member feedback or unique situational occurrences on property.

Tournament & Play Management

  • Event Execution: Coordinate all leagues and tournament functions, including budget management, promotional materials, and scoring.
  • Systems Proficiency: Master Golf Genius for event management and maintain accurate GHIN handicaps for the membership.
  • Logistics: Oversee golf cart staging, scoreboard preparation, awards, and the physical marking of the golf course for competition.
  • Pace of Play: Proactively manage the tee sheet to ensure a high-quality experience for everyone on the property.

 

Player Development & Merchandising

  • Instruction: Assist the club's instructional efforts by providing top-level private lessons and group clinics for all skill levels.
  • Retail Operations: Support the Golf Shop through strategic merchandising, receiving, inventory control, and promotion of sales.
  • Club Services: Perform minor club repairs and provide equipment advice to enhance the member experience.
  • Member Trips: Act as a guide and assist with organizing member trips to other facilities, play in Pro-Am events and contribute to the playing culture of the Cutalong membership.
Qualifications
  • PGA Standing: Maintain an active classification in the https://www.pga.org/ (Class A preferred) or remain an Associate in good standing (Level 2 or above).
  • Rules & Education: Maintain a high-quality level of education regarding the USGA Rules of Golf.
  • Ambassadorship: Represent Cutalong Golf Club professionally both on and off property with uncompromising attention to detail.
  • Lead Assistant Professional Position is open to PGA Registered Apprentices or Members, Level 2 or higher. Four-years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience; Strong written and verbal communication skills Excellent customer service skills Experience with Golf Genius Basic computer skills and competency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, preferred.
