I. Position Title: Golf Cart Worker I
II. Summary of Overall Purpose of Position: Under supervision of the Golf Pro and Assistant Golf Pro, this position assures a smooth operation for customers around the golf course. Primary responsibility falls on customers, efficiency of cart loading, cart cleanliness, staging and storing. The Cart Worker must have excellent listening skills and eagerness to provide excellent service.
III. Duties
  • Greets customers in a warm friendly and professional manner.
  • Cleans and maintains fleet of golf carts for continuous play.
  • Manages golf cart storage and opens/locks carts for the day.
  • Cleans buildings and grounds, washes windows and empties trash when needed.
  • Help keep all working areas attractive, neat and clean free of trash and waste.
  • Do not allow carts to clog passage area, arrange them neatly after having been used.
  • Inspect the condition of golf carts with specific attention to their cleanliness and appearance.
  • Responsible for collection and organization of all range baskets and the washing of the range balls.
  • Responsible for cart cleanliness, cart supplies, and cart condition.
  • Keep driving range clean.
  • Assist in tournament setup of golf carts.
  • Refer all major problems/complaints to Golf Pro and/or Assistant Golf Pro.
  • Maintain order and continuity of player traffic.
  • Tracking and reporting the need for supplies necessary for the day to day operations of their given givens.
  • Assist patrons with handling of golf equipment.
  • Assist patrons with cart assignments and returns.
IV. Marginal Duties
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
V. Qualifications
Experience: Some customer service experience. Golf experience/knowledge preferred. Licenses/Certifications: Must possess a valid driver's license. A valid Utah Driver License must be obtained within 60 days of hire and maintained throughout employment.
Special Requirements: None
Knowledge of: General understanding of golf course operations; general golf course rules; and customer service.
Ability to: Work with minimal supervision; understand and follow general work instructions; ability to work flexible schedule and hours each week; effectively present information and respond to questions from groups, customers, managers, and the general public; solve practical problems that may arise; and must be able to work outside for long periods of time and in all kinds of weather, performing tasks that require physical strength and endurance.
Skill in: Self-motivated with desire to promote golf; service and customer focused attitude; enthusiastic, outgoing attitude and personality, patient and non-combative.
Communication Skills: Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Possess a professional demeanor and an easy-going sense of humor.
Tool, Machine, Equipment Operation: Operates golf carts, calculator; cash register; computer copy and fax machine; and phone.
Working Conditions
Physical Demands: While performing this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, stand, sit, and talk to hear. Must have the ability to lift, bend, walk and stand for extended periods of time. Required to push, pull or lift medium to heavy objects. Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
Working Conditions: Regular exposure to heat, humidity, cold, wind and/or rain is expected.
