Job description

Breads Bakery is seeking a reliable team player to join our logistics team. Breads Bakery is a New York bakery dedicated to producing handmade breads and pastries using traditional baking techniques and providing our guests with an unforgettable experience.

The logistics department plays an integral role in the success of each location and department by counting, coordinating, and communicating the distribution of all Breads Bakery products. The position requires early morning, weekend, and holiday availability and is a physically demanding role.
Responsibilities & Expectations:

  • Receive, count and distribute daily production- alerting appropriate manager(s) and/or shift leader(s) of delays, missing items, and/or quality concerns in a timely fashion and troubleshooting when needed.
  • Maintain regular communication with all departments and Breads Bakery locations to ensure proper production, inventory and bake schedules are maintained- recognizing that every day presents varying needs and adjusting task prioritization accordingly.
  • Maintain a 'Yes' mindset and troubleshoot through any obstacles that may arise; govern service recovery as needed with professionalism and sincerity.
  • Packing cookies, cakes, wholesale, catering, Goldbelly, PR, and holiday orders- ensuring items are packaged, labeled, and dated appropriately (if applicable) and distributed in a timely fashion.
  • Submit inventory through the appropriate platforms, assisting and adapting to any system transitions and/or updates in SOPs.
  • Assist drivers in loading and unloading the vehicles and accompany in ride alongs for deliveries as needed; ability to adjust and adapt gracefully to unexpected changes.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work space, execute general cleaning, ensure proper storage of goods (FIFO) in accordance with DOH standards and so on.
  • Contact clients and guests as needed, recognizing the importance of providing extraordinary hospitality and exemplifying this in interactions with guests, vendors and coworkers alike.
  • Foster a positive work environment and commitment to Breads Bakery’s values.

Skills & Requirements:

  • Experience in a similar role and/or background in hospitality industry, preferred but not required.
  • Remarkable communication and interpersonal skills, strong problem-solving aptitude, and ability to multitask.
  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced, high pressure environment.
  • Capacity to excel on a team and work autonomously.
  • Strong organizational skills- this position requires a keen eye for detail and punctuality.
  • Ability to work early mornings, holidays and weekends.
  • Strong computer skills, preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work on your feet for a full shift and lift 50+ lbs during the shift.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards / requirements including meeting and qualitative or quantitative productivity standards.
