Job Description

At Fairmont Copley Plaza, Fairmont Gold offers an exclusive "hotel within a hotel" experience where personalized service, attention to detail, and meaningful guest connections define every stay. As a Fairmont Gold Attendant, you will play an essential role in delivering the elevated Fairmont Gold experience by ensuring the seamless operation of the private Fairmont Gold Lounge and supporting exceptional guest service throughout the Fairmont Gold floor.

You will maintain the presentation of the lounge and its culinary offerings, including complimentary breakfast, all-day refreshments, evening canapes, and the Honor Bar, while creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere where guests can relax, work, and socialize. Through genuine hospitality, anticipation of guest needs, and collaboration with the Fairmont Gold team, you will help create memorable experiences that exceed expectations and reinforce Fairmont Gold as a true home away from home.

Luxury Guest Experience

  • Deliver the exceptional Fairmont Gold experience through personalized, intuitive, and engaging guest service.
  • Create meaningful connections with guests by anticipating needs, recognizing preferences, and exceeding expectations whenever possible.
  • Maintain a welcoming, refined, and comfortable lounge environment where guests can relax, socialize, or work throughout the day.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests for food, beverages, amenities, and special accommodations.
  • Assist guests with information regarding hotel services, Fairmont Gold amenities, local attractions, transportation, dining recommendations, and the Boston area.
  • Observe guest preferences and communicate valuable information to the Fairmont Gold Supervisors to personalize future stays.
  • Seek opportunities to surprise and delight guests through thoughtful service, attention to detail, and memorable moments.
  • Support Fairmont Gold arrivals and departures by assisting with welcome and departure experiences as needed.

Fairmont Gold Lounge Operations

  • Ensure the Fairmont Gold Lounge consistently reflects the highest standards of luxury, cleanliness, comfort, and presentation.
  • Prepare, replenish, and maintain all food and beverage offerings, including complimentary breakfast, all-day refreshments, evening canapes, and Honor Bar amenities.
  • Monitor buffet presentations to ensure food quality, freshness, temperature, cleanliness, and visual appeal throughout service.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the pantry, lounge, refrigerators, storage areas, and service stations.
  • Restock Honor Bar refrigerators and lounge displays throughout the day.
  • Ensure pantry shelves, refrigerators, cupboards, and storage areas remain organized and fully stocked.
  • Maintain all lounge furniture, tables, displays, and decor in immaculate condition throughout each shift.
  • Take ownership of the Fairmont Gold Lounge by ensuring every detail reflects Fairmont's luxury standards and creates an exceptional guest experience.

Teamwork & Communication

  • Work collaboratively with Fairmont Gold Supervisors and colleagues to deliver seamless and personalized guest experiences.
  • Communicate guest preferences, operational updates, inventory needs, and maintenance concerns promptly.
  • Support fellow colleagues during periods of high business volume and assist with operational requests as assigned.
  • Foster a positive, professional, and respectful work environment built on teamwork and collaboration.

Daily Responsibilities

  • Prepare the Fairmont Gold Lounge for daily service.
  • Set up breakfast and food & beverage displays according to Fairmont presentation standards.
  • Restock Honor Bar refrigerators and beverage stations.
  • Organize pantry cupboards and storage shelving.
  • Continuously monitor lounge cleanliness and promptly clear, clean, and reset tables.
  • Monitor buffet quality and replenish food and beverage offerings throughout service. Contact Culinary department as needed for replenishment
  • Assist Fairmont Gold Supervisors with daily operational requests.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned.

The hourly start rate is USD $26.90

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in luxury hospitality, food & beverage, guest services, or hotel operations preferred.
  • Experience within a luxury hotel, private lounge, club level, or concierge environment is an asset.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Passion for delivering exceptional luxury guest service.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to anticipate guest needs and respond with professionalism, warmth, and discretion.
  • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask while maintaining composure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team.
  • Knowledge of Boston attractions, restaurants, transportation, and local experiences is preferred.
  • Commitment to maintaining Fairmont luxury standards in every aspect of the guest experience.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds independently and move heavier items with assistance or appropriate equipment.
  • Ability to push service carts throughout the hotel.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
