ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Access Control & Visitor Management

  • Greets and logs all employees, contractors, and visitors in and out, ensuring compliance with site security protocols.
  • Verify MSHA 5000-23 comprehensive training certificates for all personnel entering the site.
  • Direct visitors and vendors to their destination.
  • With guidance, issue access credentials and assist with badge accountability and inventory.
  • Administer and track site-specific hazard recognition training for all contractors and visitors.

Emergency Response & Incident Management

  • Respond to accidents, incidents, suspicious activity, and emergencies as needed.
  • Act as member of the mine’s Emergency Response Team (ERT), supporting both internal and external first responders during emergencies or crises.
  • Collaborate with external agencies in the prevention of crime.
  • Work with fire response units for fire suppression, and with medical units in the event of emergency situations.
  • Relay site weather warnings to all personnel as needed.

Patrols, Surveillance & Reporting

  • With guidance, perform frequent foot and vehicle patrols of the property, and observe and report on conditions of equipment, damage, or any suspicious activity.
  • With guidance, write incident reports and maintain appropriate logs
  • Once trained, conduct surveillance of the site in person and by utilizing technological equipment.

Operations & Equipment Support

  • Assist with the distribution, maintenance, and proper use of communication equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 0-1 years experience.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to assist with emergency situations calmly and efficiently.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong ethical standards and integrity. Must adhere to company security policies and procedures at all times.
  • Accountability and responsibility in handling security equipment, company property, and sensitive information.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION:

  • Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or military service.
  • Previous experience at a mining operation.
  • First Aid: CPR or relevant medical certifications/training.
  • MSHA training.
  • Experience with radio communications, surveillance systems, access control software, or other security-related technology.
  • Background in electrical work, low-voltage wiring, or general equipment maintenance.
  • Experience with basic carpentry, welding, fencing, or general repair work.
