Job description

Firmware Engineer needed in Houston, TX to Design and implement software of embedded devices and systems from requirements to production and commercial deployment. Design, develop, code, test and debug system software. Research, test, or verify proper functioning of software patches and fixes. Analyze and enhance efficiency, stability and scalability of system resources. Collaborate with engineers or software developers to select appropriate design solutions or ensure the compatibility of system components. Support software QA and optimize I/O performance. Provide postproduction support. Interface with hardware design and development. Monitor system operation to detect potential problems. Knowledge of Linux kernel, RTOS and bare metal (CPU) and embedded C/C++ programming. Familiar with open source tools (gnu) and TCP/IP programming. Familiar with low level protocols (SPI, I2C, RS232, GPIO).

Minimum of bachelor’s degree in Computer Systems Engineering, Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, Embedded Systems Engineering or related field. Minimum of 24 months of experience required in job offered, embedded systems developer, software engineer or related field.
