The City of Cottage Grove, Minnesota, is seeking a Utilities Superintendent for this growing community in the Southeast Twin Cities metropolitan area serving a population of 43,690 across 37 square miles. Situated close to St. Paul, the city offers convenient access to urban amenities while providing abundant parks and open spaces, attractive neighborhoods, high-quality schools, and a strong sense of community.   
THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT
The Cottage Grove Public Works Department operates with an all-funds budget of $24 million and a team of over 50 FTEs across fifteen service areas: administration, engineering, streets, signs, snow removal, forestry, stormwater, sewer, water, streetlights, building maintenance, sealcoating, recycling, equipment replacement, and fleet. The City's water and sewer public utility provides water service to over 13,800 residential and commercial customers. 
THE UTILITIES SUPERINTENDENT
Reporting to the Deputy Public Works Director, the Utilities Superintendent leads and manages the City's utility operations, including water treatment, water distribution, sanitary sewer, and street lighting systems, to ensure high-quality service to the community. The Superintendent also serves as a member of the department's leadership team. The Utilities Division operates with a 2026 budget of $6.8 million and a team of 12.5 FTEs. The Superintendent has one direct report-the Utilities Working Fore(wo)man.
