Job Description Summary
The HVAC Technician is responsible for the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of complex mechanical, HVAC, Glycol and Ammonia systems within commercial facilities. This role ensures all building systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with critical specifications through preventive maintenance, rapid response to trouble calls, and collaboration with engineers, contractors, and site leadership. The technician plays a key role in maintaining system reliability, developing site-specific SOPs, and supporting capital projects while upholding C&W Services' standards for safety, professionalism, and operational excellence.Job Description
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform maintenance and repairs to all mechanical equipment and systems.

  • Conduct building tours, maintain equipment loss, and report deficiencies for corrective action.

  • Respond to all HVAC, Glycol and Ammonia trouble calls and troubleshoot the systems to meet the critical specifications of all Data Centers and critical environments as well as operational and comfort needs of the building(s) occupants, where applicable.

  • Be proficient in the functionality of the BMS/EMS and understand the sequences required for proper building, equipment and system operations.

  • Work with engineers, contractors and consultants in evaluating the proper operation of the building systems.

  • Maintain a professional, safe and clean environment.

  • Troubleshoot HVAC, Glycol and Ammonia equipment and controls to determine problems and perform necessary repairs.

  • Maintain HVAC, Glycol and Ammonia equipment on an ongoing basis as part of the facilities preventive maintenance program.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned, assisting other tradesmen, and emergency repairs.

  • Adhere to established HVAC, Glycol and Ammonia work order preventive maintenance schedule.

  • Completes work in accordance with C&W Services Business Systems Standard Operating Procedures and work instructions.

  • Able to assist with other facilities work as needed

  • Create and maintain all operational SOPs for site specific equipment and systems.

REQUIREMENTS (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Education and/or Experience):
  • Minimum of 5 years field experience in commercial facilities

  • Education or training in HVAC, Glycol and Ammonia refrigeration and controls

  • Refrigeration Technician License

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.

  • Strong writing skills required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to lift 25lbs frequently, 50 lbs. occasionally

  • Climb and work off of ladders and aerial lifts safely

  • Observant which requires seeing, hearing, and smelling
