Roles & Responsibilities
The MFT Platform Support Engineer is responsible for supporting, monitoring, troubleshooting, onboarding, validating, and maintaining enterprise Managed File Transfer (MFT) platforms and associated integrations. The role provides L2/L3 operational support, drives incident resolution, performs deployment validations, conducts RCA activities, and ensures secure and reliable file transfer services.
• Monitor and support enterprise file transfer platforms across production and non-production environments.
• Ensure availability, reliability, and performance of managed file transfer services.
• Investigate and resolve file transfer failures, delays, duplicates, and connectivity issues.
• Support critical business file exchanges and batch processing workflows.
• Coordinate with infrastructure, application, network, and security teams during issue resolution.
• Maintain operational documentation, procedures, and knowledge articles.
• Monitor daily EFT operations and file transfer activities.
• Configure and maintain users, permissions, folders, and trading partner connections.
• Support EFT workflows, event rules, and automation processes.
• Troubleshoot transfer failures, authentication issues, and certificate-related problems.
• Support server upgrades, patching, and environmental changes.
• Validate successful file movement and workflow execution.
• Support secure external and internal file transfer connectivity.
• Troubleshoot communication and connectivity issues through DMZ Gateway.
• Validate SSL/TLS certificates and secure communication channels.
• Coordinate firewall and network connectivity troubleshooting.
• Monitor gateway performance and availability.

• Monitor and support Connect: Direct file transfer processes (IBM Sterling Connect:Direct)

• Troubleshoot job failures, dependencies, and delayed schedules.
• Perform job restarts and recovery activities.
• Support appl ication deployment and release activities.
• Validate deployment packages and configurations.
• Monitor deployment execution and troubleshoot failures.
• Verify successful implementation and post-deployment health checks.
• Support rollback activities when required.
• Coordinate deployment activities across multiple environments.
• Lead troubleshooting efforts across multiple technology teams.
• Ensure restoration of critical business services within SLA commitments.
• Drive permanent resolution of recurring issues.
• Investigate recurring and major production incidents.
• Analyze logs, monitoring alerts, application behavior, and infrastructure events.
