Position: General Manager - Wellness
Department: Beauty & Wellness
Work Location: Marlborough, MA, Hybrid (work 3 days onsite)
Hybrid Schedule: At Helen of Troy, we embrace a flexible hybrid work model designed to support collaboration and productivity. For roles eligible for hybrid work, our standard schedule includes in-office collaboration from Tuesday through Thursday, with the option to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays. What you will be doing:
The General Manager, Wellness is responsible for the overall leadership, P&L performance, and execution of the North America Wellness business, representing more than $600 million in annual revenue across the Honeywell, Vicks, PUR, and Braun brands. Reporting to the President, Beauty & Wellness, this leader is accountable for delivering revenue growth, profitability, market share expansion, and long-term brand equity.
In partnership with the International President, the General Manager helps shape global Wellness portfolio strategy and translates strategic priorities into successful North America commercial execution. The role provides leadership across brand, commercial, operational, and innovation functions while driving business performance in a dynamic consumer, retail, and regulatory environment.
The General Manager leads three direct reports, including the VP, Innovation, VP, North America Marketing, and VP, North America Sales, and fosters a high-performing culture through disciplined execution, cross-functional collaboration, talent development, and accountability.
Duties and Responsibilities
Business Leadership & Financial Performance
  • Own the full North America Wellness P&L, including revenue, margin, cost management, and profitability performance.
  • Develop and execute annual operating plans aligned with strategic and financial objectives.
  • Drive sales forecasting accuracy and ensure accountability for delivering business commitments.
  • Allocate resources and investments across marketing, sales enablement, innovation, and promotional activities to maximize return on investment.
  • Make strategic trade-off decisions that balance growth investments, profitability, and long-term business objectives.

Global Strategy & Portfolio Leadership
  • Partner with the International President to shape global Wellness portfolio strategy, brand architecture, and innovation priorities.
  • Translate global strategies into North America commercial priorities and execution plans.
  • Provide North America consumer, customer, and market insights to influence global business decisions.
  • Ensure consistent brand positioning and execution across the Wellness portfolio.

Commercial, Brand & Innovation Leadership
  • Lead North America commercial execution across key retail, e-commerce, and omnichannel customers, including Amazon, Walmart, Target, and other strategic partners.
  • Partner with Innovation leadership to drive brand growth, innovation planning, and successful product commercialization.
  • Monitor and evaluate market share, category performance, consumer trends, and brand health metrics.
  • Balance short-term business performance objectives with long-term brand equity and growth strategies.

Operational Excellence
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration across supply chain, operations, finance, customer service, sales, and marketing teams.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, productivity, inventory management, and supply continuity.
  • Establish performance metrics, reporting processes, and accountability measures to drive execution and business results.

Talent & Organizational Leadership
  • Lead, coach, and develop the VP Innovation, VP North America Marketing, and VP North America Sales while driving alignment across a broader matrixed organization.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of direct reports while supporting a broader matrixed organization.
  • Create a culture of accountability, collaboration, recognition, and high performance.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain top talent to strengthen organizational capability.
  • Model company values while demonstrating resourcefulness, agility, and a solutions-oriented mindset.

Skills needed to be successful in this role:
  • Strong financial and business acumen, including P&L ownership, capital allocation, forecasting, budgeting, and ROI analysis.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute business strategies that drive sustainable growth and profitability.
  • Deep understanding of consumer behavior, brand management, innovation, and omnichannel retail environments.
  • Experience translating market and consumer insights into commercial strategies and new product innovations.
  • Strong operational leadership skills with the ability to drive cross-functional execution, process improvement, and business performance.
  • Demonstrated success influencing and collaborating within a global, matrixed organization.
  • Strong communication, presentation, stakeholder management, and executive relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to prioritize competing demands, solve complex business challenges, and make data-driven decisions in fast-paced environments.
  • Proven ability to attract, develop, and retain high-performing talent while fostering a culture of accountability and results.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or a related field required; MBA preferred.
  • 15+ years of progressive business leadership experience within consumer products, wellness, health, personal care, or related industries.
  • 5-7+ years of experience as a General Manager or equivalent business leader with full P&L ownership of a $300M+ business, category, brand portfolio, or geographic region.
  • Demonstrated success driving revenue growth, profitability, market share gains, and brand equity.
  • Proven experience developing and executing strategic growth plans and translating strategy into commercial outcomes.
  • Experience leading and developing teams within complex, matrixed organizations.
  • Experience managing major retail and omnichannel customer relationships, including Amazon, Walmart, Target, or similar retailers preferred.
  • Understanding of FDA, CPSC, or other health and wellness regulatory requirements preferred.
  • Public company and global/international business experience preferred.
  • Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis

In Massachusetts, the standard base pay range for this role is $304,031 - $400,000 annually. This base pay range is specific to Massachusetts and may not be applicable to other locations. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to location, experience, skill level, and performance. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees.
