As of Jun 11, 2026, the average hourly pay for esthetician studio in the United States is $21.81, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $15.38 and $26.92 per hour, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What job makes $10,000 a month without a degree?

Estheticians typically do not earn $10,000 a month without additional income sources or a high-volume client base. High earnings in beauty or wellness fields often require building a strong reputation, advanced skills, or owning a successful business. Most jobs that pay $10,000 monthly without a degree are in sales, real estate, or entrepreneurship, rather than esthetician roles.

What is the difference between Esthetician Studio vs Esthetician Spa?

AspectEsthetician StudioEsthetician Spa
CredentialsState esthetician license, skincare certificationsState esthetician license, skincare certifications
Work EnvironmentPrivate or small treatment rooms, individual client focusLarge facilities, multiple treatment rooms, communal spaces
Employer & Industry UsageIndependent studios, small skincare clinicsSpas, wellness centers, hotel resorts
Services OfferedFacials, waxing, skincare treatmentsFacials, body treatments, massage, waxing

Both esthetician studio and spa roles require similar credentials and focus on skincare services. Esthetician studios typically offer a more private setting with personalized treatments, while spas provide a broader range of wellness services in a larger, communal environment. Your choice depends on your preferred work setting and service scope.

What is the highest paid esthetician job?

The highest paid esthetician jobs typically include medical estheticians working in dermatology clinics or plastic surgery centers, where they often earn higher salaries due to specialized skills and certifications. Advanced roles such as medical estheticians or those with additional training in laser treatments, skincare technology, or cosmetic procedures tend to have higher earning potential compared to standard spa or salon estheticians.

Can estheticians help with hyperpigmentation?

Estheticians can assist with hyperpigmentation through treatments such as chemical peels, microdermabrasion, and targeted skincare recommendations. They are trained to evaluate skin conditions and perform procedures that may improve hyperpigmentation, often under the supervision of a licensed skincare professional or dermatologist.

What can I do as an esthetician to make more money?

Estheticians can increase earnings by expanding their skill set through advanced certifications, offering specialized treatments, and building a loyal client base. Working in high-end salons or spas, providing retail products, and scheduling flexible or additional hours can also boost income. Developing strong customer service skills and marketing oneself can lead to higher tips and repeat business.
