Job description

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we're the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain - and we're looking for talented people who want to help.
You'll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You'll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. And you'll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.
The AWS Global Accelerator is a Software Defined Networking service which improves network performance for a range of products including AAA video games, video streaming platforms, VOIP, Education and technology platforms, and social media applications. Our collaborative and inclusive team is looking for experienced, passionate, full-stack software development engineers. As a member of the Global Accelerator team, you will be creating new features for our globally distributed network offering running in 29 AWS Commercial regions today. You will have opportunities to engage with AWS customers, engage with other AWS service owners, propose and document new ideas to the team, and best of all develop and deliver new features to the delight of our customers.
If you are passionate about distributed systems, writing clean code, constant learning, and invigorated to work on a platform that runs critical internet workloads for AWS and its customers you should apply for this role. You will become an important part of running our global software defined networking service and learn what it takes to grow and operate a global business as AWS scale.
As part of the AWS Global Accelerator team, you will:
- Own defining, scoping, designing, developing and shipping features for a highly impactful AWS service.
- Make critical design decisions that impact across various AWS services.
- Learn what it takes to grow and operate a global business at large scale.

- Design for new systems from scratch or improving existing systems and own the technical direction for the initiative from start to finish.
- Mentor and guide the team members to solve complex problems with simple solutions.
- Drive the big ideas to improve availability and performance of AGA Control Plane - Public facing APIs, provisioning workflows and integration with other AWS services.
- Develop high quality testable and maintainable software and participate in code reviews.
About the team
