Job Description
Job Summary: Reporting to the Manufacturing IT Infrastructure Team Lead, the Global Systems Administrator will be responsible for the design, implementation, support, and optimization of global core infrastructure and manufacturing systems environments. The successful candidate will provide technical and operational leadership while ensuring the availability, security, resiliency, and performance of data centres, cloud platforms, and manufacturing operational technology systems.
This position serves as a key liaison between IT, engineering, manufacturing teams, external vendors, and other stakeholders. The role supports a 24/7 global manufacturing environment and contributes to the continuous improvement, automation, and standardization of infrastructure and manufacturing systems.

Job Responsibilities
• Manage and optimize servers, enterprise storage, virtualization platforms, and cloud, on-premises, and hybrid infrastructure
• Contribute to the design and execution of global data centre strategies, including cloud, co-location, and on-premises environments
• Research and recommend new infrastructure technologies aligned with organizational requirements and industry best practices
• Support, maintain, and enhance virtualized manufacturing environments, including Siemens and industrial automation platforms
• Collaborate with engineering teams and external vendors to deploy and support manufacturing computing systems
• Ensure the uptime, resiliency, security, and performance of manufacturing infrastructure systems
• Manage capacity planning, technology refreshes, and lifecycle management for manufacturing systems
• Provide Level 2 and Level 3 support for global infrastructure and manufacturing systems within established service-level agreements
• Perform infrastructure and system patching activities in accordance with corporate standards
• Lead incident response, troubleshooting, and service restoration activities during critical outages
• Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation and respond to after-hours infrastructure and manufacturing system issues
• Follow IT service management processes, including incident, problem, change, and service management
• Implement and maintain infrastructure in accordance with corporate cybersecurity frameworks, policies, and governance standards
• Manage system access controls, permissions, security configurations, and compliance requirements
• Ensure software licensing compliance and adherence to enterprise technology standards
• Contribute to disaster recovery planning, documentation, testing, and optimization
• Support enterprise backup strategies to ensure data integrity, availability, and recoverability
• Serve as a technical contributor or technical lead for infrastructure and manufacturing technology projects
• Execute project deliverables and ensure established milestones and technical requirements are achieved
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions aligned with operational and business needs
• Act as a primary liaison with infrastructure vendors for technical support, escalation, and issue resolution
• Monitor vendor performance and adherence to contractual service-level agreements
• Communicate technical information effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Maintain detailed documentation for systems, configurations, procedures, and operational standards
• Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, standardization, and improved system performance
• Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience
• 3-10+ years of systems administration or infrastructure experience
• 3-10+ years of experience supporting manufacturing or operational technology environments
• Experience supporting infrastructure within a 24/7 enterprise or manufacturing operation
• Strong understanding of cloud, on-premises, hybrid infrastructure, and data centre operations
• Hands-on experience with VMware ESXi 6.x, 7.x, or newer virtualization environments
• Experience administering Windows Server 2016, 2019, or 2022
• Experience with Active Directory, Microsoft 365 administration, Microsoft Azure, and Linux
• Experience with enterprise storage, backup, and disaster recovery technologies
• Understanding of networking fundamentals and infrastructure monitoring tools
• Hands-on experience with Siemens WinCC and TIA Portal is strongly preferred
• Experience with Rockwell Automation or Allen-Bradley FactoryTalk is an asset
• Experience with ThinManager, thin-client environments, VDI, or Terminal Services
• Experience supporting HP and Dell enterprise server hardware
• Broad technical knowledge across servers, networking, virtualization, cloud infrastructure, and manufacturing systems
• Experience within an industrial or manufacturing environment, preferably supporting Siemens technologies
• Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and critical-thinking skills
• Strong business acumen and the ability to align infrastructure solutions with organizational objectives
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong stakeholder and vendor management capabilities
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Collaborative, team-oriented approach with the ability to provide technical leadership
• High attention to detail and commitment to security and operational excellence
• Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation and provide after-hours support
• Ability to work on-site at the Agawam, Massachusetts office
