Risk Manager, Executive Protection

YOUR ROLE

This role plays a critical role in safeguarding Genworth’s senior leaders, board members, and key stakeholders by delivering discreet, professional, and risk‑based protective services. This position supports the company’s Executive Protection (EP) and Physical Security programs by proactively identifying risks, implementing mitigation strategies, and ensuring a secure environment that enables executives to conduct business safely and confidently.

Working in close partnership with Corporate Security leadership, internal business partners, and external law enforcement, the Executive Protection team supports advance planning, threat assessments, executive travel, and high‑profile meetings and events. The role requires strong situational awareness, sound judgment, and the ability to respond effectively to dynamic and evolving security conditions while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism.

What you will be doing

  • Provide close protection and security support for executives during business travel, meetings, and events (domestic and international)
  • Conduct protective advances, site assessments, and route planning
  • Maintain a low-profile, professional presence aligned with corporate culture
  • Support emergency response and incident management involving executives
  • Conduct executive travel and event risk assessments, including threat, crime, medical, and geopolitical factors
  • Monitor global security developments and emerging threats relevant to executive activity
  • Produce concise, actionable intelligence and briefing materials for executives and leadership
  • Support go/no-go decisions and mitigation planning for higher-risk travel or events
  • Liaise with external partners such as protective service vendors, hotels, transportation providers, and local authorities
  • Support crisis management and business continuity activities as needed
  • Maintain documentation aligned with Genworth policies, standards, and audit expectations
  • Participate in after-action reviews and continuous improvement of executive protection practices
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies

What you bring

  • At least 5 years of work experience with 2+ years of experience in executive protection, protective intelligence, or security operations
  • Background in law enforcement, military, or intelligence roles
  • Experience supporting senior executives or high-profile principals
  • HR-218 (LEOSA) Credentials
  • Demonstrated ability to assess risk, make sound judgments, and remain composed under pressure
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to travel as required (including short-notice travel)
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
