What is a global risk management internship?

A Global Risk Management Internship is a temporary position designed for students or recent graduates to gain hands-on experience in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks that affect organizations operating internationally. Interns typically work under the guidance of experienced risk managers, learning about financial, operational, regulatory, and reputational risks. They may assist with risk assessments, develop risk reports, and help implement strategies to minimize potential threats to the business. This internship provides valuable exposure to global business practices and helps prepare interns for a career in risk management or related fields.

What types of projects and responsibilities can interns expect during a global risk management internship?

Interns in a Global Risk Management program typically support teams in identifying, assessing, and mitigating various risks that can impact an organization, such as financial, operational, or compliance risks. You may be involved in data analysis, preparing risk reports, conducting research on emerging risks, or assisting with risk assessments for new business initiatives. Interns often collaborate with professionals from departments like finance, compliance, and operations, gaining valuable exposure to international business challenges. This hands-on experience helps interns develop analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills essential for a career in risk management.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a global risk management intern, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Global Risk Management Intern, you generally need strong analytical skills, a solid foundation in finance or business, and enrollment in or completion of a relevant degree program. Familiarity with risk assessment tools, Excel, and sometimes specialized risk management software or certifications like FRM (Financial Risk Manager) can be advantageous. These competencies are essential for identifying, evaluating, and mitigating global risks effectively within complex organizational settings.

Crisis24 AiiA is seeking a Senior Business Risk Analyst with deep expertise in corporate risk and financial analysis to assess complex business and financial risks. This role will combine subject matter expertise with advanced analytical capabilities, including the use of AI to accelerate and enhance risk analysis, evaluate emerging trends, and assess how geopolitical, economic, financial, financial, operational, regulatory, and security developments may impact client organizations.
What You Will Do:
  • Own the end-to-end development of AI-enabled corporate risk assessments, including prompt engineering, assessment methodology, testing and validation, and final delivery. Continuously refine AI outputs to ensure accurate, relevant, and actionable risk intelligence for clients.
  • Assess corporate risk across geopolitical, economic, financial, operational, regulatory, reputational, and security dimensions, identify exposure and forecast emerging threats and opportunities.
  • Leverage AI capabilities and AI-enabled platforms to conduct analysis at speed and scale: synthesizing large and disparate data sets, surfacing signals, modeling exposure, and stress-testing analytic judgments.
  • Employ AI to produce a full range of intelligence analysis products, including executive briefings, threat and financial-risk assessments, country and market-entry assessments, risk forecasts, and bespoke research.
  • Collaborate with analysts, subject-matter experts, and platform/technology teams to refine intelligence outputs, strengthen AI-assisted workflows, and improve analytic tradecraft.
  • Maintain analytic objectivity, sourcing rigor, and quality standards across all products, including appropriate human oversight of AI-generated outputs.

What You Will Bring:
  • Bachelor's degree (Economics, Finance, or Business is preferred).
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience assessing business and financial risk intelligence analysis products.
  • Demonstrated expertise with both corporate risk and financial analysis methodologies, including risk assessment frameworks and financial/economic analytic techniques.
  • Hands-on experience using AI capabilities and AI-enabled tools to conduct analysis-for example, to process large data sets, generate insights, or accelerate the production of analytic products-paired with sound judgment in validating AI-generated outputs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex risk and financial analysis clearly to senior, non-specialist decision-makers.
  • Proven ability to work under deadline pressure while maintaining accuracy and analytic integrity.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional credentials or formal training in financial analysis or risk management (e.g., CFA, FRM, or equivalent).
  • Advanced degree and/or deep experience with corporate risk and financial analysis.

Information Security
  • Protect the data and systems of Crisis24 and its stakeholders by adhering to policies, reporting incidents and potential problems, completing regular training, and identifying opportunities for improvement.
