Position Overview
The Resource Manager position is responsible for the smooth and efficient resourcing of the CGI and retouching team and ongoing operational support within Marks. It is essential to possess a proactive, professional, cheerful demeanor and service-oriented attitude with experience working in a fast paced, creative environment. The Resource Manager is required to be a multi-tasking, empathetic problem solver with strong interpersonal skills, comfortable working efficiently and autonomously within a multi-discipline production studio.   • Operations Managers, Resource Managers, Client Services, Creative Designers, Creative Directors, and CGI Artists across North America.

Responsible for...
  • Support resourcing and develop a deep understanding of individual skillsets and drive "right project, right talent" workflows to maximize efficiency and quality.
  • Daily monitoring and adjustment of work in progress to ensure on time delivery and resource optimization throughout the life cycle of the project.
  • Monitor resourcing within the project planning system and confirm all studio resource bookings and deadlines with discipline leads on a weekly basis.
  • Provide status updates for all projects in collaboration with the Producers, Programme Managers, Project Managers and Creative Directors.
  • Work with the Design and Studio Leads to schedule projects as far in advance as possible and reset expectations based on new or changing priorities.
  • Work closely with the Global Resource Manager to proactively identify risks before they impact delivery.
  • Forecast, source, onboard and book freelance resources to meet fluctuating demand and act as a liaison between freelancers and the Accounts Payable team; manage ongoing vendor relations and freelancer contracts.

Critical Skills and Behaviors
  • Must work well within a team and be able to maintain confidentiality while being self-motivated, resourceful, organized, and detail-oriented, in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong understanding of CGI or VFX pipelines, including modeling, texturing, lighting, rendering, and compositing.
  • Familiarity with CGI tools, render engines and workflows (e.g., Maya, Blender, Cinema 4D, V-Ray, Redshift, Houdini, Adobe Suite).
  • Understanding of render workflows, file structures, and asset dependencies.
  • Proven ability to manage complex resourcing across multiple projects and regions.
  • Resource reporting, providing accurate, timely, and relevant data to support business and studio leadership decision making.
  • Relationship management, building trusted partnerships with creatives across all disciplines.
  • A strong instinct for identifying bottlenecks, with the ability to strategically plan resources to alleviate them by problem solving, prioritizing resource conflicts, influence decisions and escalating solutions when required.
  • Ability to navigate time zones and load balance across global resource teams to ensure continuity of work.
  • A collaborative team player who integrates seamlessly into existing global teams.
  • Freelance networking, building and maintaining a strong freelance network and black book.

Prerequisites
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience working within a CGI of VFX led studio environment.
  • Proficiency in Mac OS, and strong knowledge of cloud-based resource management tools (e.g., Flow, Crew Planning, Workfront).
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (e.g., Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, Keynote).

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $85,000 USD - $95,000 USD annually. Ultimately, in determining pay, we will consider the successful candidate's location, experience, and other job-related factors.
